Nice Thread

Sam here...a 47 yr old Geologist in Ozona, Texas..just moved here after 25 yrs in Wichita Falls, Texas. Grew up in Odessa next to Permian High School, moved to New Orleans and played for J.T. Curtis at Curtis High School (National ranking annually). Played college football and was lucky enough to pay for my education. I am a horrible capper in all sports...I like to blame it on my lack of available time...but the fact is I suck at it. If you see me post a play, then you have a 75% chance of winning if you fade my pick. I have actually faded my own pick so I could win. I am so grateful for all the legitimate cappers here that allow me this investment opportunity. In drilling for oil and gas, I use statistics to make a living and that is all that sports investing amounts to. More importantly, this forum has taught me how money management is the key. Someday I would like to contribute something back to the group, but until then I will lay low and appreciate the true ladies and gentlemen that are the backbone of this site. Happy New Year to you all.

Good Morning

This thread is the main reason I joined. People go out of their
way to make this site not so impersonal. Everyone is supportive.
I'm 56 year old male in Monterey, California. Father of three, all grown, but still asking for cash! Hell what's new. Have one grandaughter and the BOY is due later this month.
Born in Cuba, but chased out at the age of 8 by our boy Fidel.
Graduated University of San Francisco (go Dons).
Owned a real estate company for 25 years, and sold it to one of
the "snowbirds" who come to the AT&T Tournament in Pebble Beach, and decide that they HAVE to live here. Buddy I played gold with owns a GMC dealership, and asked me to help out part time....notice I said "played"....this damn part time job has now become a 6 day a week gig.
Enjoy the camraderie (sic) Thanks for the welcome aboard.
Life long Giants and Niner fan...Of course jumped on the band wagon on the Raiders when they are good! Not so much lately.

Born and raised, Mount Holly, NJ..27 years old..
pretty much got introduced to the life by my dad, been hitting the poker rooms in Atlantic City ever since I was legal.Poker is my true love, and I'm an avid Pot Limit Omaha player, and a winning one might I add.. =)
Been handicapping for a little over a year now, early on I was obsessed with parlays... =p
Ive hit a lot of them suprisingly, mostly with baseball and hockey, which have largely supplemented my poker roll...
Big fan of the NFL season as well, and have finally gained the discipline in managing my bankroll.
Hoping to get some feedback on the picks I post and any advice at all from the experts...

I'm currently serving in the US Army as an Information Systems Analyst.

good luck all

Going back to the good old days!!

For what its worth, I am from Augusta, Ga where they hit that golf ball around the grass each April. Love to play pool, have taught lots of people how to play over the years, won lots of money, now I sell the poolsticks instead of hustling. Am drawing my social security check each month and am in very good shape. Wanted to say "thank you" to Mr Curdawg for the service to our country as well as all the other servicemen that had done their part.

Also, to thank him for putting me on the You Tube thing with Eddie Cochran playing and singing Money Honey back in 1957 thereabouts. I've stayed on this thing for several hours watching the video's of Jerry Lee, Johnny Cash, Carl Smith, Del Wood, Patsy Cline, Johann Strauss and the Blue Danube Waltz, Ferlin Husky, Buddy Holly and his brother before they became the Crickets. Most all these video's were taken at the Town Hall Party in Compton, Calif. I was there when it happened. THP. Bob Luman, the Collins Kids.....Mr Curdawg, you made me feel extremely good by putting me on to this music. This was over 50 years ago and I was sitting in the audience watching and listening.

Apologise for the length of this post......still rocking my life away with good ole rock and roll.

Thank you Larry

I see this started a long time --long before I got here. Let me continue it..

The name is Bruce and I live about 30 miles SW of Cleveland. Divorced for 10 years now- happily I might add. Have two grown daughters. One will graduate from College and the other works in NM. Been on the same job for over 30 years. Along with that I own 2 small business one on my own- which is a tool sharpening business and the other a small engine repair with a good friend of mine.

Attended The Ohio State University til I drank my way out. I laugh about it now, but back then it wasn't so funny. I'm a homer from the Bucks-Cavs-Browns and Tribe. Will be 52 years young this summer and have more BS than money. Love to go casino hopping with some co-workers.

That's about it from the north coast of OH--IO

Intro...solid thread!

Long standing thread I failed to notice before. Great to familiarize statfox names I see on a daily basis with real people.
I'm Grant, 30 years old, live in Toronto, not married, no kids, just a cat and a couple of fish tanks to care of at the moment.
Been playing hockey and soccer since I was a 2-year old, highest level I played would be junior 'B' hockey and University soccer (trained in England with Division 1 goalkeepers but decided against going pro).
My interest in sports wagering started about 5-years ago and is rooted in hockey and soccer and those are generally what I feel most comfortable about posting here as they are my forte.
This forum has opened up new possibilities however, excellent cappers and learning more about reading into lines, have made baseball, football, and basketball (especially NCAA) all possibilities for profit. Really glad I stumbled upon this forum awhile ago, it has been an asset!

Moved to South Forida in 1980.

Love the Browns and Dolphins.

I'm a roofing contractor who loves to fish, play golf and mixed league softball. Finally got married first time 4 yeas ago. Love her.

MLB Boooooring. IMO
NBA My own reasons why I can't stand it.
NHL I'll watch a game now and then.
NCAA Final 4 Will watch it.

Will only gamble on NFL and college football.
Been gamling for about 10 years now. 1 to 5 unit per game player.
The first 6 years, a good year was to break even.

THEN I FOUND STATFOX. THANK GOD.
First 2 years I didn't win a lot but at the end of the year I was up.
Last 2 years I've put together a pretty good system using Statfox ,and watching football is so much more enjoyable.

End of last year I found the forum and it's been fun watching the miriad of personalities interact with each other. I'm a 1 figer computer klutz who has enjoyed my first experience with a forum.

THANKS to all of you guys, and TDBabe, for all your input on everything from sports to ETC.

I am 25 and currently living in Indianapolis. Born and raised an Indiana farm boy, graduated from IU in 2006.

Didn't start learning anything about handicapping until I started working at STATS Inc in Chicago about two years ago.

I have learned a LOT from this forum, but still have a long way to go to be a good capper. I am still a very small player until I can prove to myself that I have the ability to make a long term profit.

At this point I have had the most success in the NBA but I think MLB and college football have some promise. NFL lines are very very tight from week to week and am still trying to find a footing in college hoops.

I am an avid motorcycle rider and am counting down the days until the MotoGP returns to Indy in August. Hurricane Ike put a damper on the race last year.

nice thread

whats up fellas? Im 28 years old from Hackensack, NJ. Stand at 6'1 230lbs. I was drafted out of high school by the Kansas City Royals in the 2000 MLB Draft and opted to go to college, ended up hurting my elbow (ulneritis), the Blue Jays wanted to sign me as a free agent, I said "no way" and the baseball career ended there. Now i work for United Water Suez Construction, i lay water mains in the street, fix leaks in the street, give houses water services, if its in the street and has to do with water "i do it". Anyway, my favorite sport to wager on is #1 baseball as some of you know, NBA, and NFL. As far as books and social clubs, dont wanna get to in detail, but you get the jist. I love rottweilers and pittbulls and have absolutly no interest for muscle cars. I love luxury vehicles, BMW's, Mercedes, Range Rovers and Escalades we can talk....The mustangs and all those other muscle cars not my thing. I enjoy a beer every now and then, alittle Johnny Walker Blue Label, Remy Martin....Used to smoke Haze until my new job, now i smoke marlboro lights. Other than that, this is a great forum, the people are real cool (atleast some), alot of knowledge, good learning place and a great bunch.

I'll go ahead and introduce myself.

I am from Kentucky...born and raised. No, we all aren't hicks...just most of us. Haha. I do wear shoes all the time and have all my teeth. Oh, and education...finishing up my masters, just need to do one presentation for a capstone. So, no, not all of us are idiots (just most!)

Hobbies--outside of getting into handicapping, I like to hunt, gamble, drink beer. Favorite sport--MLB. I do like NCAABB, NCAAF, NFL, NHL (thanks to Sawyer!), horse racing. I like betting in general honestly.

I really like this forum, I feel like a lot of knowledge lies in these boards. I hope to contribute back very soon and buy your guys (and girls) a round inside the HoF bar.
