Dayton @ USC
Dayton, as a lot of these mid-major schools do, try to get the bigger schools on their schedules for the RPI factor. Dayton has trouble getting most of the big boys. The bigs have nothing to gain by beating them. But to lose to the mids, is crushing. From the major conferences this year, Dayton has beaten Auburn and Bama, while losing to Colorado. With the high-end mids, they are 1-1. Losing to Ill St and beating Murray St. They are 9-3 this year. Losing 2 games by 1 point each.
Dillard at the point, will probably be the best player on the court. USC's point guard, Fontan, started his career at Fordham. Now I can see why a kid would want to transfer from Fordham to USC, but he will get beat by Dillard all day. USC is huge inside with their two 7 footers, but Dayton has about four or five 6'9" guys to gobble up fouls.
USC will try to play snail ball. Dayton will run and pump 3s. USC is one of the worst in the nation at guarding the three ball. A long trip, but I think Dayton is up to it. And I get points. Like this one...
