A pair of high ceiling Atlantic 10 teams are set to match up in Chicago. Loyola Chicago got out to an extremely slow start but has recently figured things out and got back into conference contention. Davidson comes into this one at 2-5 in conference play but has the ceiling to run with any team in the A-10.

These two teams have polar opposite play styles which will lead to a unique and fun viewing experience. Two players to look for are Grant Huffman for Davidson and Desmond Watson for the Ramblers.

Davidson sits at 12-8 on the season and 2-5 in the conference heading into February. That is not exactly where they had their goals set coming into the year. We all knew Davidson would be down, but a 2-5 start to A-10 play was not on the radar. Davidson has played some close games this year and should probably have another win or two under their belt but here we are.

They are a team who will run from time to time and is never afraid to let it fly from deep. If they want to get the upset on the road, this is the formula for success. We will see a matchup of good offense vs good defense here, with Davidson being the offense. This style of play is always tough on the road, especially in conference play but the Cats are always dangerous.

Loyola Chicago has faired much better in their second year in the Atlantic 10. No matter what, stepping up in conference is always a tough ask and Loyola really proved that because they were world beaters in the MVC. Over the last few seasons the formula has remained the same for the Ramblers. They pride themselves on elite defense and taking care of the basketball.

Although their opponent has a 2-5 conference record, they are no easy offense to keep in check. Loyola knows they can slow down a majority offenses in conference but there is no stopping a team who cant miss! Loyola will look to guard the three-point line in this matchup.

This is a rare matchup for the Ramblers where they will have an advantage in the backcourt. The Rambler guards should have no problem getting to the basket in this one.

Both offenses should find success in this matchup. Loyola should be able to have what they want getting to the rim while Davidson can find success with the long ball. We have a fun one on our hands.
