 Homer Monday

Kids taking Grandpa to Oracle tonight. Warriors honoring the 1975 Championship team. Defeating the Baltimore Bulletts in the Finals.
It's been 40 years since I went to see them play for the first time in the old Cow Palace. Nosebleed seats, but was hooked immediately. They played the Celtics. It was a thrill to see Dave Cowens et al, but the real treat was watching Rick Barry, Jeff Mullins and Jamaal Wilkes among others. Coach Al Attles in his leisure suit.
Someday when you're bored You Tube the brawl during the Finals between these two.
Can't wait!

Al Attles...a name from the past. Even though I was young, I remember him and those Warriors well. Beings back memories of listening to Chick Hearn call the games here in LA. Those were the days.

Long drive home. What a blessing to have healthy, happy and well adjusted kids. Lots of good memories. Plus, and I can't stress this enough, they love sports like their old man.
