As a horse player, this guy was amazing. I was just starting to get into horse betting when this guy was posting. Brings back many memories on this forum.

Tues. !0/02/07

I shall never find it hard to forget Shadow's memory since today, the day of Shadow's passing, is also my daughters birthbay. I tried to find something to post about Shadow/Joe and while in my search this Irish saying keep coming to mind. RIP -Joe.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...

BUMP

Just bumping this and saying thanks to everyone on behalf of my father. He would greatly appreciate the memorial thread and that he is not forgotten on this site. This site and forum was his life in the last few months he lived. Again I want to say thanks to everyone and their comments.

I only knew him a few months from this forum, but he was one of the first to welcome me and give me advice. He was such a class act, humble, and knew his stuff.

Thanks for bumping this and keeping the memory alive.

RIP buddy.

Was it just 1 year ago?

I thought it was longer than that.
Time flies quickly.

Yes, Shadow was a frequent poster and I was not very active on the threads during most of his posting.

He was very knowledgeable about many sports. There are lots to learn from such an expert as Shadow.

He reminds of me of another old timer on a horse racing website that was always open to questions and was generous with sharing info on such things as track bias and various encyclopedic stats that he kept as part of his handicapping.

Experts who are also honest, good ppl that care about others and help to mentor others are a blessing.

He is sorely missed.

Thanks for sharing, MikeSchu

I knew Shadow was undergoing treatment but not much of the details as I was an infrequent visitor to the Den, and still kinda semi-regular (football season only).

Shadow put up a good fight. It is difficult for patients and loved ones to undergo these tough battles w/diseases and afflictions.

Since I had been diagnosed with Diabetes II, I can only imagine how much tougher it was for Shadow and others who deal with life threatening challenges. Its on the scale of fighting in Nam or in Iraq, Afghanistan as far as stress and dealing with fear, pain, the unknown....

In time, we all will have our share of struggles, pain, and suffering.

Thanks again for the story, Dude.
