The Condensed write-up now......
This circuit is named after the former Ferrari driver, Gilles Villeneuve. The people of Montreal named it for him after his untimely death in 1982. He was practicing for the '82 Austrian Grand Prix when he crashed and was tragically killed.
His son, Jacques, carries the namesake and the Canadian flag though. Jacques was crowned World Champion in 1997. A chip off the old block in his day, Jacques was. Jacques still competes and is very able. He has found himself in some mediocre cars since 1997. But, the BMW he is in now is starting to show form.
This track is VERY fast with long straights broken up by quick chicanes. In fact, this race and next's weeks at Indianapolis are two of the fastest in terms of top MPH of the F1 calendar.
Ferrari, since the season got to Europe in Round 3 have recorded the fastest straight speed of any team on the grid. This top speed is of the essence in Montreal.
And Michael Schumacher, 7 X's World Champion, is quite fond of Montreal himself.
Michael's record at Gilles Villeneuve Circuit
1992 2nd (qualy 5) Jean Alesi 3rd in a Ferrari
1993 3rd (qualy 3)
1994 1st (qualy pole) Jean Alesi 3rd in a Ferrari
1995 5th (qualy pole) Jean Alesi wins in a Ferrari
1996 DNF (qualy 3) ***Michael's first season with Ferrari***
1997 1st (qualy pole)
1998 1st (qualy 3) Eddie Irvine 3rd in sister Ferrari
1999 DNF (qualy pole) crashed out at the "Wall of Champions"/ EI 3rd in sister Ferrari
2000 1st (qualy 2) Rubens Barrichello 2nd in sister Ferrari
2001 2nd (qualy pole) second to his brother Ralf
2002 1st (qualy 2) RB 3rd in sister Ferrari
2003 1st (qualy 3)
2004 1st (qualy 6) RB 2nd in sister Ferrari
2005 2nd (qualy 2) RB 3rd in sister Ferrari from 20th on the grid
This is an F1 record, Michael's 7 wins at a single circuit.
Ferrari has the top speed to win. Michael knows and can work this circuit.
With that said, I've made an early move....

I guess I'd need to know what you're lookin' to do this weekend.
Last race, you took Fisi risking 3000 at -250, correct?
If your intention is to risk that same amount to win a similar amount, I'd hold off until practices 1 and 2 at least. Engine changes during a GP weekend cost the driver 10 positions on the grid after qualy is set.
Personally, I'd go for more value at this track. It is notorious for high rates of DNF's. I attribute this to it being a "fly away" race and that it is so demanding as far as car set-up is concerned. It's top speeds put much strain on engines and the heavy braking required after the straights is very rough on suspension and brakes.
If ya can bear with me until at least this time on Friday, I'll have a better idea. Honestly though, Schumacher is solid for points. I know his price is very chalky though.
If I had to guess, I'd say Fisi, Montoya, or Massa. That's a similar price to your Fisi bet in England.
After looking at it, I'm kinda leanin' towards both Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve. They drive the BMW's. The BMW is close to the tops in terms of top speed this season. They also appear to be getting a handle on their early season reliabilty issues. If I were to take them both at the same dollar amount wagered and one of 'em comes in, I'd win.
Sorry I can't be more descriptive and concrete at the moment. I just don't what cha to lose on my behalf. I wanna be accurate and to help you out as much as I am able.
Holler back if ya need to.

More F1 bets
My bad for my past errors in human relations.
I do have a few race matchups for the GP for Sunday.
To Win Canadian GP
Michael Schumacher +185
4 units to win 7.4 units
Rubens Barrichello vs. Jenson Button
Rubens Barrichello +114
1 unit to win 1.14 units
Nico Rosberg vs. Jarno Trulli
Nico Rosberg +106
1 unit to win 1.06 units
Jacques Villeneuve vs. Nick Heidfeld
Jacques Villeneuve -108
1.08 units to win 1 unit
Tiago Montiero vs. Christjian Albers
Tiago Montiero -115
1.15 units to win 1 unit
----
Formula 1 season
+11.32 units
Here\'s to new beginnings and forgiving.
I apologize for all wrongs.
If the matchups don\'t come in, I don\'t come back. Schumacher will not win. That 4 unit wager is lost. I aim to make up for it with the matchups. If I don\'t win 3 out of 4, I won\'t be back.
If I don\'t come back, I will take this opportunity now to express my gratitude and thanks to the people who have showed me a bit of love. And to those who I have been mean and aggresive to, I am very sorry. Tomorrow, the sun rises and I wish you well.
Peace and be well Den Dwellars.

Thank you for the vote of confidence.
I run an Excel machine that helps calculate the relative strength of drivers on any particular weekend. You may have seen this in the past. It has struck with quite good success as far as race winner goes this season. Off the top of my head, I believe it predicts winners like this.....
Bahrain: M Schumacher then Alonso (race finish Alonso, Schumacher)
Malaysia: Fisichella then Alonso (race finish Fisi, Alonso)
Austalia: Alonso (Alonso)
San Marino: M Schumacher then Alonso (race finish M S, Alonso) this was a highlight weekend for the machine.... It correctly pegged the top 4, in that order....
Europe: M Schumacher then Alonso (race finish M S, Alonso)
Spain: M Schumacher then Alonso (race finish Alonso, MS)
Monaco: ****not posted***** Alonso then Webber ( race finish Alonso, J P Montoya)
Britain: M S, Alonso, Raikkonen, (race finish Alonso, MS, Raikkonen)
----
FYI,
For this week in Montreal, it predicts this for a top 4....
Alonso
Fisichella
Raikkonen
M S
I am a big Ferrari fan and it appears as though Alonso will run away with this championship. To those interested in betting F1, perhaps try betting Alonso to finish on top 3 every week from here on out. One must do so before practice/qualy to get any resemblance of value on him. He has finished no lower than P2 all season long. :(
Michael Schumacher is alleged to have signed a new Ferrari deal that will take him through the 2008 season. Fernando Alonso will be going to McLaren Mercedes next season. Kimi Raikkonen is alleged to replace Alonso at Macca.
There is much of the silly season to be posted when the time comes.
I would like to be given that opportunity to post said information.
Be well all.
Ragtop and Midas send their warmest of regards. Those guys love this Den as do I.

Thanks.....
I just posted a rather long F1 related rant. I must have not submitted the post correctly.
Either way, here is the Excel predicted finish for this weeks GP in Montreal.
F Alonso
G Fisichella
K Raikkonen
M Schumacher
We shall see how it goes. I am hopping that Michael will find the grip that he needs to challenge for the win.
I have much F1 ammo at my disposal. I wish to explain it all.
Be well all.
