I like spots like this because Leafs have won three straight and outscored three opponents 18-6 . Obviously they are playing high level hockey right now but not sure how much passion they will bring tonight against Detroit. Detroit outscored just 34-29 last 10 games so this is a team hanging around most nights.This is just too juicy a price to pass on in a game I dont think will be decided by more than 1 goal.

This is a short revenge spot for Avalanche and they are on a three game losing streak, so I expect they will have motivational edge tonight against Hawks, who in contrast have won 4 of last 5 games. This is largely a situational spot for me as I think Avalanche have good chance of winning by 2+.. GL

3* Dallas vs Philadelphia Under 6

Hard not to salivate about a Flyers over with their goalie issues, but reality is only 4 of their last 10 have gone over 6 goals and only 2 of Dallas last 10 have. So we get Khudobin and Hart in nets tonight and both have been reasonably good.The lid tightener here is Under is 20-7-1 in the last 28 meetings between these two, so an Under 6 call for me.

3* St.Louis -125 vs Montreal

Small price on home team as Blues have not been that good at home.However Carey Price in net for Montreal and not the most reliable and Blues will depend on Binnington in his second start.Speaking of unreliable,Montreal is 11-23 in their last 34 games following a win.

Blackhawks record doesn't fairly depict how many close games they have lost and riding 3 game losing streaK(All 3-2 losses) . They should carry urgency edge tonight against Devils and Devils Rookie goalie is due for some regression. I will take the value here with Hawks on ML.

Third straight road game for Blues and despite scoring 10 goals in last 3 games, this offense has not been very consistent this year and are off a win last night vs Capitals.Under is 18-8 in Blues last 26 vs. Eastern Conference and
Under is 16-6-1 in Islanders last 23 overall.I think this game will struggle to get to 4 goals and really like Under here.

Not surprising the ML up a little out of my comfort range, but off a lethargic loss at home and with a definitively strong edge in net tonight, Bruins should bring a strong effort.Flyers have been outscored in losses this season 128-54 and I think Bruins get this by multiple goals. GL

Schedule maker special here as Blues playing 4th roadie in 6 days and Bruins in off loss last night on road to Philadelphia. I expect Bruins to clamp here defensively and also Blues are quite a defensive story lately as they have allowed just 22 goals over last 10 games.Under is 32-15-8 in Bruins last 55 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 days situation as this one might not top 3 goals. GL

5* Toronto +125 vs Tampa Bay

A revenge spot for a 28-15-2 Leaf team! I like it. Toronto has lost 3 straight to Lightening and despite outshooting them 49-21 in last meeting in December.Toronto is also off 2 straight home losses entering tonights game,so they will have plenty of motivation to play hard here.Leafs also15-6 in their last 21 road games.I like Toronto

I like the spot for Panthers here after an awful road trip and catching Toronto off a revenge win last night against Tampa Bay. Florida clearly needs a game to get back on track and as difficult as it is to play a team in poor form, I think Panthers are the value here.Home team is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings.

4* Ottawa vs Carolina Over 6.5

Carolina off a loss and rested at home so it may be a difficult chore for Ottawa to keep them out of their net tonight.Senators allowed just 2 goals in last outing and Over is 36-13-2 in Senators last 51 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game.I think this gets to 7 tonight.

2* New Jersey -1.5 @ +200 vs Anaheim

Going to bypass ML on this game as Anaheim is 1-12 last 13 games and are playing 4th roadie in 6 days along with having just 1 days rest after breaking their long losing streak.Home team has dominated this series with 20-7-1 record in the last 28 meetings.Devils have outscored opponents 42-19 in their last 10 wins and should have a solid chance at multi goal win today at an excellent price of +200.

Blues are home off 4 game road stretch and 2 straight losses.Blues are an interesting and dominating team when they come to play as in their last 10 wins they have outscored opposition 38-14! They should bring some intensity tonight against Ottawa and they have outscored Ottawa 13-1 in last three meetings.I like chance for a 2+ goal win tonight.

5* Philadelphia vs Montreal Under 6

Montreal really picking it up on defensive end having allowed 8 of last 10 opponents 2 or fewer goals.while overall allowing just 1.7GPG in that span.In Flyers last 10 games where they scored 2 or less, the Under is a perfect 10-0.Also, Montreal played last night in Columbus and Under is 52-23-14 in Canadiens last 89 games playing on 0 days rest.

3* Washington vs Chicago Under 6.5

These two are both in bad funks, Chicago hasen't been able to stop anyone and Caps can't score. Chicago has allowed 24 goals in last 5 games so likely will be focus on being tougher around net. Caps aren't giving up tons of goals and I expect this to stay Under 6.5

5* San Jose vs Washington Under 6.5

Hard for me to believe these two teams won't have things cleaned up on defensive end. The defensive performances have been deplorable with Caps allowing 21 goals over last 4 games and Sharks 18 in last 3! Its the NHL and whats goes up will go down, so don't be surprised to see a 2-1 scrap here.Under is 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings in Washington.

5* Arizona vs Ottawa Over 6

Senators playing a little defense lately has take this down to 6 , where 2 weeks ago it would have easily been 6.5 Don't blink with these two as Senators have allowed opponents to score 4+ in 29 games this season and Over is 16-7-2 in Senators last 25 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.Expect them to pepper poor Darcy Kuemper tonight as this one should get to 7 or 8.

3* Edmonton vs Pittsburgh Over 6.5

Neither of these two can be trusted defensively as Edmonton has allowed 3+ in 7 of last 10 and Penguins have allowed 3+ in 7 of last 10 as well. Penguins shutout in last home game,so don't expect repeat tonight as Penguins avaraged 3.7 GPG in previous 10 homes games to the shutout loss. Over 6.5 GL

Friday 2-15-2019 NHL

3* NY Rangers +135 vs Buffalo

Like spot for Rangers as Buffalo off win and are just 18-37 in their last 55 games following a win. Rangers are off loss and have been fairly dominant in this series having won 20 of last 28 meetings. Obviously not as big a gulf between the two talentwise as their once was, but I think Rangers are value in this range.

3* Edmonton vs Carolina Over 6

Carolina hasen't had a scoring explosion in recent games, but Edmonton should give them the opportunity tonight as they have allowed 4+ in 6 of last 10 overall games. Over 9-4-1 last 14 meetings and like it again here. GL
