I paid into a Quebec pension thing, aka insurance if you get a lifetime disability. I paid for 38 years roughly. And I paid for others, since I was also an employer.

Cash about $1200. That is about equivalent to a job paying roughly 30K a year, take home, because we pay a lot of tax in Canada and more in Quebec!!!

It is the way it works in Quebec. It is about a 30% to 55% tax rate.

So, every 10,000 you make, about $3000 to the government each year. So $30k, is about 9K of tax you will never see again.

All told, it is all I need. I cannot drive, obviously, I could care less for a fancy car, like
