Shocking Stat to start the day-
SMU has only shot under 40% once all year-and that was against Louisville. And their schedule has not been terribly weak. Virginia, Tex. A&M, Wyoming, 2 games against Cincy. And every once in a while, college teams just come out flat. So I'm shocked to see that.
As a example, Louisville has 5 sub 40% games. Memphis has 3. Cincy has 10(2 under 30%). And UConn 7. Mich St has 4. Michigan has one. UNC has 5. The point is that these are young kids and they stink every once in a while. But not SMU. Good coaching/shot selection helps.
What is similarly surprising is that UConn has really played a weak schedule-1 good road win over Memphis but everything else of note has happened at home.
SMU needs this game much more than UConn.
Taking the Mustangs to be more consistent as a team and even get the W outright.
