Timmy

Two years, 35 million. Some will say the Giants may have overpaid. I say, it's not my money!
The fact is that we Giants fans, love this guy. He's arguably along with Buster Posey the face of the franchise.
Timmy stays!!

Now, if we could only find a bat for left field, and a number 3 starter....?

Seems maybe teams are learning their lesson and trying to avoid giving 8-10 year deals and over paying for shorter ones. 17.5 million per year is insane for Timmy at this point, 6 years ago, he was worth that.

Good article I read earlier about Timmy and his contract in the MERCURY NEWS. Mentioned exactly your sentiments. IMHO they are all overpaid...LOL

This is more about taking care of him for the past six years, aside of course from a public relations angle with the fans. Everybody loves Timmy.
On the bright side, he did throw a no-hitter last year, so there is potential.
Hope sure springs eternal in the off season.

your teams are in good shape compared to the yanks.....we need 3 starters, probably a SS and 3rd baseman. granderson might not re-sign, cano wants an 8 or 10 yr contract that the team won't give him.....not even counting no mariano. the farm system is in ruins, besides all that we're looking good.

Ah! Ronnie! The Yanks will find a way somehow. Of course you're talking to a guy who lived in Long Branch, NJ when he was a kid, and can still recite the batting order of the 60's Bombers. Lol.
Might take a little longer to put the pieces together this time, but they will.

agree
all are overpaid to a degree
but i always prefer a guy staying with his own team
beats a guy like pujols who wins a series for a town that adored him and then bolts for a slightly better offer
if giant fans are happy then god bless
he has been a wonderful pitcher over the years and has 2 rings so god bless!

thats a helluva good deal for everyone involved.......

hes a great pitcher. and yes, its too much, but...........

compare this contract to our stupid prince fielder 215 million contract and its pocket change.......

this guy is the biggest joke in the city of detroit. the biggest joke in baseball period if you ask me.........

not trying to change the subject. but compared to other contracts out there. this is a good deal for all involved.......

unlike our problem here in detroit. it was our fault for offering that kind of money. but could the guy at least pretend to give a ****??? what a disgrace this guy is........ on every level....

All these guys are way overpaid, especially the owners. That's why they are screwed even more than we are with whats coming this way for every citizen on Earth. The grabbing everything that isn't tied by Governments of the West is only going to get worse as the economic collapse continues.
