Golf: 2013 Us Open

I have made a few plays already and will likely make a few more for this tournament. Here are my overall picks for this week.

Snedeker: 25-1. Coming into form after an injury earlier this year

Mannasero: 60-1. Young European who has been around for a while and is very young. Has won again this year and has a chance this week. Next big young name in the game in my opinion.

Ernie: 90-1. Grizzled vet who shows up in majors.

Cabrera: 90-1. See above

K Chappell 100-1. Been around for a few years now. Great short game. There is value here.

Back with more later in week.

Love this stuff, Bear. Ernie and Angel 90-1? Wow! Gotta put a few bucks on them. They're certainly capable of winning it.

113th U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Hi Bear, it's time for the 2nd Major of the year.

I see that this years U.S. Open is @ Merion Golf Course in Ardmore, Pa., and it is on a pretty short course by today's standards, that plays to a Par 70 @ 6,996 yards.

There are only 2 Par 5's, the usual 4 Par 3's and 12 Par 4's; 2 of the Par 4's are over 500 yards with the 18th finishing hole measuring in at 521 yards.

So scoring on the Par 5's is going to be really limited and that has pretty much been Tiger's bread and butter thoughout his career.

Overall, this course does NOT look like it favors the BIG HITTERS.

But make no mistake about it - this is a REALLY tough course and it is being underrated by a lot of people. The rough is extremely tough like 'Old Time Golf'. And the greens are very tricky.

It looks like a course that rewards 2 old BUZZ WORDS - Course Management and Shot Making.

As the old saying goes, 'Horses for Courses'.

Due to the fact that they play a different course every year, Open history never really favors any particular swing or style of golf.

The only multiple winner of the U.S. Open that is in this year's field is Tiger, who has won it 3 times (NOTE: only a couple of golfer's have won it 4 times, including Jack).

So, as is the case in most golf tournaments, anyone can pop out of the pack and win it.

Luckily, I was able to bring home a winner this year in the 1st Major @ the Masters when Adam Scott @ 23-1 pulled out a Playoff win over Angel Cabrera.

For this years U.S. Open, I'm going to go to the 1st tee with 3 familiar names (at least to golf fans) with some really nice odds.

30 - 1 .... CHARL SCHWARTZEL
35 - 1 .... LUKE DONALD
68 - 1 .... HUNTER MAHAN

Good Luck Everyone!

I'll be back later with some 3 Balls plays for the 1st round.

3 BALLS

When I first saw the 1st Round 3 BALLS betting props the other day, it reminded me of a corny old CONFUCIUS SAYS joke.

CONFUCIUS SAYS: "Baseball is wrong. Man with four balls cannot walk."

For the 1st Round 3 BALLS, I'll take the following:

1st ROUND
----------------
LUKE DONALD +160 OVER LEE WESTWOOD & MARTIN KAYMER

TIGER WOODS +137 OVER RORY McILROY & ADAM SCOTT

Greetings

I think this US Open is as wide open as we've seen any major in last 5-7 years. ANYBODY'S game IMO. I don't like playing a player to win - I know the odds yield big payouts, but too hard to hit.

I notice nobody is saying Webb has a chance at repeating. Hmmmmm. Food for thought.

Here are a few matchups I like:

Tournament long matchups:

1. Thu 6/13 S. Garcia vs C. Schwartzel
04:33 AM 7021 S. Garcia +100
7022 C. Schwartzel -110

Play Schwartzel -110

2. Thu 6/13 B. Watson vs B. Haas
04:00 AM 7043 B. Watson +107
7044 B. Haas -118

Play Bill Haas -118

3. Thu 6/13 A. Cabrera vs I. Poulter
04:55 AM 7051 A. Cabrera +130
7052 I. Poulter -144

Play Cabrera +130

4. Thu 6/13 P. Harrington vs T. Clark
04:33 AM 7057 P. Harrington -103
7058 T. Clark -107

Play Tim Clark -107

5. Thu 6/13 C. Pettersson vs J. Senden
10:07 AM 7085 C. Pettersson -114
7086 J. Senden +103

Play Jon Senden +103

Good luck, fellas!

Uga

Phil./ Hole in one

If I ever post NO hole in one again.. Fade it.. Just watched the Hole in one that lost my pick.. not only completely lucky way off the hill left but also perfect speed just getting there..
As for Phil Pick// ****.. after hole out I thought he would get it done. was rooting
for him.
