5-6-16 History time

TB goes for a commanding 3-1 lead on the road tonight. So exactly what are the chances they win tonight to make it 3-1 ? Well lets see.

Take that coin out of your pocked and flip it, teams in this situation (TB) win game 4 at a rate of 50.7% for the quarterfinal round and a slightly worse 48.1% for all rounds. The line has stayed steady all day. So probably just a good game to break open some wine.....er excuse me. Brews and enjoy.

I mean really, there are 3 games tomorrow with 2 of them at 2-2 and one that the Pens are trying to close out. What does history say about that ??

Stay tuned.

We have two series at 2-2 today, with the higher seed going back home. So exactly how do you think teams in this situation will far ?You would think coming back home the odds are very much in their favor, right ??

You would be correct.

For all rounds they hit at a 62.3% and for the quarterfinals at 65.2%. But we have a tale of two faves here. The Stars are just -120 which makes them a play for sure. But the Sharks are a -160 fave which is exactly what they should be.

How about the Caps coming home being down 3-1. Surely here they will be a definite fave to win here according to history ?

Well yes and no.......First problem is that the fave to start the series is hardly ever down 3-1, so the samples are quite small. But besides that little problem the data is also split. For all rounds the home team is a nice 57.8, which like the Sharks is spot on ML wise. But for the quarterfinals round, it's a flip of the coin, so the Pens are a nice value.

So, the Stars are a definite play according to history. Stay away from the Sharks game and the Pens are a play according if you go by just the quarterfinal round stats.

Remember this is just another tool in the bag for you. Use this info as such.
