just got my check from pinny/ and was wondering if anyone has opened up a canadian bank account ? or a foreign bank account for that matter.

i know you can open up hsbc accounts so long as they are operating in the U.S. also. but don't really know the parameters of that.

It may not be just a Canadian bank account. Possible the registered address or IP address count towards whether you are American account. Plus sometimes they need the driver license info.

you need 3 things

1. a canadian address, you can get a mail drop address, through mail boxes etc or a mail drop company.

2. canadian bank account, hsbc or royal bank of candad will open an account for foreign residents, you can do this over the phone or online

3. canadian proxy server-shoots your internet connection through a canadian server, giving you a canadian ip address

bank accounts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Canadian banks are subject to Canadian regulation, regardless of affiliation with American banks. There is currently no law in Canada restricting the normal transfer of funds to offshore gambling sites, Neteller, etc.

The following Canadian banks DO take American customers without requiring Canadian residency.

Important! Please contact the bank to verify their rules regarding international wires and/or IRS reporting. Any information I've listed below is from a CS rep and so subject to some error.

canadian proxy

I am just copying this from another site

How hard is it to find a Canadian proxy?

Honestly isn't difficult.

Although an even better solution would be to signup for a Windows VPS account at a canadian hosting company. You get a remote desktop to a windows virtual server, do all your wagering from a browser there. Much more secure and reliable, and less likely to get blocked or look suspicious to anyone auditing your account IP accesses. Remote desktop is slow for anything graphic intensive (won't work for some poker clients) but is fine for sports betting.

Remote Desktop Client is under All Programs/Accessories/Communications on Windows XP or downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...dclientdl.mspx

Even available for Mac:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherpr...edesktopclient

Google windows VPS Canada and you'll get several providers

There are several different ways to connect to servers:

Copied from Aliveproxy.com ...
helpful info to understand how it works.

* VPN
* Proxy
* SSH Tunnel over port 80

There are some differences in how they work. Below is a description of the advantages and disadvantages of each:

1) VPN - Evaluation Security Option

* High Security
* Easiest
*Protects all internet traffic in one click.
* Auto-Reconnect if link fails

The vpn (virtual private network) is the easiest to setup and allows you to connect into our network and do all your internet activities from our network. Think of connecting to the vpn like coming into our "internet cafe" and using one of our computers. Anything you do does not reveal your identity because you are doing all your internet activities like web surfing from our computers, not yours. If you have ever used a dial-up internet service it is essentially the same thing except it is high speed (or as fast as your current internet connection). Actually you will notice that the setup procedure is almost the same as it is for setting up a dial-up. The only difference is that you will be entering our server name instead of your isp's phone number. We are essentially becoming your new ISP. Please note that you still have to connect to your current ISP before connecting into our service. The nice thing about a vpn is that there is no software to install and once you are connected all your internet activities are protected. (Although for your convenience we have put together a small connection manager program you can download.) Another important advantage is that a vpn connection is encrypted so your isp cannot spy on you! The disadvantage is that you must disconnect when you want to use your real ip address from your ISP.

2) Proxy -

* Medium Security
* Application by Application protection
* Auto Reconnect if link fails

The proxy allows you to protect only the applications you configure to use our proxy. This can be an advantage if you still want to be able browse the internet from your real ip and our ip without connecting and disconnecting from our service. The disadvantage is that if the application your want to use wasn't built to be able to use proxies then you need to install a software program (called sockscap). Another disadvantage is that although your IP address is protected the connection is NOT encrypted. Below are instructions on how to setup and use the proxy service.

3) SSH Tunnel -

* Ultra-High Security
* Application by Application protection
* No data leaves computer if link fails.

This option is very similar to the previous option but is much more secure. This option has the highest security rating because in addition to protecting your ip and providing 128 bit SSH encryption, it does not use the PPTP protocol. Furthermore, if the link fails no data will leave your computer from the application being protected. On the other hand it will not "auto-reconnect" like the vpn or proxy. It can even be run right from a link on our website without installing it on your computer. It can penetrate almost any firewall because it runs over port 80. This option also scores high in security because it protects on an application level. Although this is not quite as convenient as the vpn which protects all internet traffic without making any application configuration changes, it protects against 3rd party logs from software like instant messengers and other "phone home" products. 3rd party logs can be used to associate your real ip and your protected ip. This is a very weak association because at any one time several hundred users are using the protected ip but for the ulta-security minded people this may be an issue.

dilling - you can choose which server (by entering different server# while in setup) in which country that they have. They used to have 30 some servers spreading over different countries. For that Aliveproxy.com they have 1 server in Toronto, 1 in Montreal Canada, in UK, in Holland and things like that.

For example if i want connect to their Toronto server then I input "vpn7.adresssoandso.com" or

"vpn9.adresssoandso.com" for connect to Montreal server ...

Points to consider when looking for an Internet Anonymity Service

Software in a Box - Many companies say they offer anonymity and ship you software in a box or have you download software. Be advised that this software you install can easily capture your true IP address, e-mail address and other data and send it to the company without your knowledge. Findnot.Com can work with no software at all using windows VPN setup. Does that make you feel better, it should. We also have software we use for socks proxy connections called Sockscap which is freeware available on sites other than ours so you do not have to download it from our site to use it on our service. We also use Putty for SSH Proxy connections which is again freeware available on other sites. You do not have to download any proprietary software to use our service.

Number of Servers - Many companies have a nice website and professional looking software but only have one server. Aside from the fact that this service that looked good may be very slow, this means you are limited to appearing as if you are in one country on one IP address all the time. Some companies have a handful of servers on one line like a T-1. This means you are limited to appearing as if you are in one country only and always coming in on the same IP block. We have 34 servers on 10 IP blocks in 6 different countries. You can appear to be coming from 6 different countries and many different cities within the USA and Canada. It only takes a few seconds to change servers and you have all 34 of them to use.

Log Files - Most companies will log everything you do and save these logs for years. If they are in the USA as 98% of them are, they will have to turn over the log files on any official request or subpoena and they won't even tell you. Read their terms of service. We retain log files for a maximum of 5 days after which they are deleted from all sources. This allows us to protect our servers from being compromised by abusive users. We have never yet received a lawful subpoena valid in our jurisdiction that we would be bound to comply with. If such a subpoena was to appear one day, we have no doubt that it would require more than 5 days for it to be served upon us, most legal processes requiring information take months from the time of the act in question, not days. We doubt this policy would ever violate someone's privacy and is in place to protect our system from abuse. We do not know of any competitive service that does not keep some sort of logs.

Peer 2 Peer (P2P) - A lot of anonymity providers will not allow Peer 2 Peer as we do. Same for FTP, so do check. You can run any internet application through our service except bulk e-mail.

Type of Connection - We offer 34 servers each setup to run as a Socks Proxy, SSH Proxy or VPN. You have your choice at all times so you should be able to work around most firewalls and other annoying methods of blocking and censorship. Does the competition offer three methods of connecting? We doubt it highly.

Tracking - We have a unique proprietary method of having your tracks get lost in the shuffle. Everyone coming off a a given one of our servers has the same external IP address. This makes it extremely difficult if not impossible for anyone to trace you to one of our servers and then out again into the internet. Traffic is routed back to you by the use of not recurring session id numbers. If someone got your IP address while you using one of our servers they could not attack you or serve popups etc. since they would not have an appropriate session id since the session id must be originated by you not them. Thus our servers protect you from many different types of attacks. We also use variable user id's but these numbers change hundreds of times a day again making tracking and tracing next to impossible. Many other services assign you a user id which stays the same forever thus facilitating tracking you. None of our competitors has even close to the amount of servers we have.

Uptime - We have a unique proprietary method we use here too. We use co-located servers around the world on different hosting company lines. Thus none of our servers ever traces back to a Whois lookup saying Findnot. Additionally since we have 34 servers and 25 or more are up on any given day we offer 100% uptime. 98% of our competitors have all their servers on one line in one location so if there is a problem they go down completely but it is cheaper for them this way so they do it. We us you'll have 100% uptime.

Anonymous Payment - Will the anonymity provider let you pay anonymously so they do not know who you are. We allow such sign-ups accepting E-Gold, mailed in money orders and cash.

File Storage - Does the other service let you store files on it's servers like we do and our storage space is on a server in Malaysia which is a nice place to preserve privacy.

Encryption - Does the other service offer encryption so all communications between you and our servers are encrypted so your ISP has no idea what you did, where you went or what you downloaded on the internet.

Free Security Software - Does the other service give you free software to preserve your security like we do on memberships of 6 months or longer. Hard drive security is an important ingredient to internet privacy.

Popups and Attacks - All the Proxy and VPN based services will block attacks and pop-ups so that is not a real significant benefit since all do it.

Support - We offer full support 7 days a week, do they?

No Censorship - We have full internet with no censorship of any sort, do they?

Millions of Users - Some claim to having millions of users. When one looks carefully one sees these people offer free services like free browsing and it is the free service that has the massive amounts of users not the paid subscription service, and this figure may be intended to be the accumulated figure over the years they have been offering such services for free or otherwise. No anonymity service in the world has anything coming even close to a million paid subscribers at any one time, to the best of our knowledge and we are in the business. Don't be deceived by advertising claims not fully explained.

Terms of Service - Do read their terms of service. Are there threats in there about if you violate any terms of service all your rights to privacy are gone? Do pay attention to the other threats as well which are also there. Also read about how they log information. Ask yourself if their backups also have logs files (of course they do)? Ask yourself if they will ever get rid of this data for real? So what is the difference if they have these logs or your ISP has these logs, especially if the service is in the USA? No difference.

Deceit - Did the competition point these things out to you or instead try to deceive you? Did they attempt to get you to think you would be more anonymous than you really would be? Were they open about how easy it would be for someone to get their logged data about your activities from them?
