Smart Plays

We will be using this thread to post a free pick each day and our full card once games are in progress. Hope you all enjoy it. All lines are from Pinnacle at the time our clients receive our plays, typically 20 minutes before each round of games. We will track only our record on plays posted here, which will be our full card each day. Up until now the record is:

Yesterday:

Hoops ML: 1-0, +165
Total: +165

May HR Record:

Total: +373 (+3.73 units)

HR record (March 24-current):

+19.475 units

................................................................................................................

Free plays off our client card:
(let's make it two today)

Cincinnati Reds +104, 1.5 units (risk 150 to win 156)
Seatte Mariners +143, 1.5 units (risk 150 to win 214.5)

Good luck!

You use the word "we" , which implies more than one person is involved.

Almost all touts use the words, we, us, our when in reality most are 1 man operations out of their own home.

My question is... Is there someone else other than you involved in your operation?

Smart Plays consists of myself (Scott Martin), Skillz (Joel Dickerson, who has not registered here yet) and Matt (who is registered under the name Smart Plays). Posts by either of them, and them only, should be considered as approved by all of us.

In the other thread, didn't you guys agreed starting from scratch and won't use the March to now record units, as those didn't post on this board?

Use the unknown to statfox members as means of introduction is not quite fit in here ...

Like I introduced myself as multibillionaire since last year and start from now you see how I make money. Whether a billionare or not, statfox members don't have a clue.

SDG scored 3 runs in the top of 1 ... your post on this game was 30 mins after game started. I suppose you already saw these 3 runs when this play was posted here.

Did you not read the first post?

"We will be using this thread to post a free pick each day and our full card once games are in progress."

We have paying clients, can't post all our plays until after they start. As I said, we will post a free play each day and then add the remainder of the card after action starts. Our plays are monitored at National Sports Monitor and Ultimate Handicapping Contest, so if you have any doubts, you can check them there.

I know exactly "after it started" BUT for how long after it started? If you post 5 mins after game time I won't querry you, will I querry you if the game started long enough to know the score or to your advantage, like 3 runs in top of 1st to say the game will go over?

Bigdadi, we have 3 websites we post at. We also have lives. It is not always convenient to post plays right away. It has not been an issue anywhere else, all our plays are easily accessible and verifiable.

The best solution, if this is a problem, would probably be if a moderator here would like to have a free subscription to our service to verify what we post. We'd be more than happy to provide that for one.

AZ,

I think the ultimate underlying problem here is this:

What is your ultimate goal here in the FoxDen?

You keep talking about clients, are you looking at building on that client list by means of the forum where it specifically prohibits such acts?

If you want to post winners and help out this community, welcome aboard. If you're slowly working on a scheme to build your distribution lists by gaining the confidence of some of these forum members, I must say I frown on that. I run my own site, albeit quite a different nature in which you run yours, and I learned from the first few days I started posting here that this place was more than a watering hole for me to grab potential business. It's a true community that usually bonds together with great brains of each capper being the glue (that is until Riggs makes his couple times per year visits, LOL!).

Bottom line for me is this:

Post your plays, share your knowledge, make some friends, but be selfless about it. If you're looking to build a client list, I think you came to the wrong place.

Colin

If they want clients here, there is a special section "Cappers & Sportsbook Promotion" .... Mmmmm the traffic over there is almost DEAD.

The strategy here is exact copy of Friday 13 had used.

I think you bring up a good question, and one that I'm not so sure of the answer to. I'm always looking for a place to talk sports betting; that's how I got into this in the first place, working together with others to win together. At the same time we do have a service that is of value to many bettors, and to not mention that would be irresponsible and counter-productive, imo.

We are seeking to fit into this community if we're welcome, and help add to the site. To me, the way we set this up today makes the most sense: it allows us to pass on some games we like, while at the same time not being unfair to those who pay for our service. Do you have any suggestions?

Plays

I think it is OK to post plays after the game has started, BUT any plays posted after the game has started CANNOT be included in any "YTD" records. Everything noted on your YTD records in FOXDEN should be ONLY the games given with ample time before the start of a game that other members can clearly see that it was previous to a game (and perhaps even play it if they so desire).

I understand that you have paying clients etc... and that you need to hold back some plays for ethical/business reasons, that is fine (SD total being a good example). But these plays should in no way be included in any records, asterisked or otherwise. This is only to be fair to any new members (and less attentive experienced mambers!!).

I am happy to see new faces, ideas, blood, systems, and winners! But I think that your future posts should probably NOT include your past records from other sites etc... Whether true or not. Everyone has to prove themselves. I am still trying to do that *grin* Just a mere apprentice to Foxden Master :)

Good luck in your quest.
Oz

Sorry AZ, I don't have a lot for suggestions. I posed a one-sided question that kind of cornered you, yet honestly I don't have a straight answer for you either.

I mentioned that I too run a site, and in actuallity it is similar to StatFox, just that no one really uses it (LOL). 3,200+ posts later I'm still here doing my best to contribute and help everyone out, including the StatFox guys. There are other way to get clients, but I think the bottom line is that if you want to stay reputable you need to do your best to follow the rules. As you can see, there are some very unforgiving people around here that will pigeon hole you and never let you forget a slip up you make. I'm trying my best to converse in a productive fashion as I can tell from your posts that you are at least trying to fit in, you're not just firing back with random jibberish that no one likes.

I guess what I would do is this. It's clear to most here that you offer a service. I would make a point of not mentioning that in your future posts (whether it's referring to your company, clients or contact address). People will talk about the post when you have a big day (and they'll **** on you for a bad one, unfortunately), and some might ask about the service and at that point you would be OK to let them know about it. But promoting it or putting it in front of people on a daily basis. It also wouldn't hurt to run a daily thread in the Cappers and Promotions section and post your e-mailed pick for the day after the game starts (within a reasonable time frame) and it will let people see your top plays and you can leave information for them on how to contact you in that daily thread.

Just a few thoughts, I'm not trying to run you out of here, but I do think you guys should keep the rules, and more importantly some of the guys that are not very tolerable of services in mind.

Colin

Colin...

You're right about the after-1st-pitch posting, the only thing it can possibly do is self-promote. So we'll be sure to keep any full service record in the proper area, and the running tally of comps in the daily thread in the regular room.

Honestly when i brought out our previous records today, it was to sortof defend our work being that many had posted negative things about our service as a whole in the 3 days I was unable to respond.

Any past posting will be done in a thread over at the promo room. As I said before, after really thinking about it, thats all that past posting really is, and we realize this. As I stated in the FIRST post: we really are here to help contribute to this room, as I've always enjoyed surfing and going back and forth with people @ the forums as Scott said earlier. It's ridiculous to think anyone in our position wouldn't accept a new client from any board we were posting at, but at the same time, and only time can prove this, we will not PUSH the service here.

We will probably keep a running thread with full service records over at the promo room, and a running tally of our posted games here at this forum. To be quite honest, as many of our guys don't even know about this board, for a while we'll post a bit more than one game a day....

GLTA who follow in the future, the 1-1 makes a tad bit for the room. I'm ****ed the M's lost that lead though....

I appreciate you guys taking this whole thing into consideration and I hope some people here can see that not all services are full of hacks.

Here's to a profitable venture, good luck to Smart Plays.
