last year's Sun Belt conference co champs open the season at Florida Atlantic. last year's game the Blue Raiders captured a 35-14 victory & the score was not a reflection of the game. MTSU led 14-7 at the half, returned the second half kickoff back for a td,& early in the fourth returned a fumble 50 yds fora td to open up a 28-7 lead. the Owls scored with seven minutes to go to cut the deficent in half & in a spot to run out the clock, broke through the line & went 56 yds with 44 seconds to go to make the final score, leaving a bitter taste in the Owls mouth. the Blue Raiders enter the season with quite a few holes to fill, due to graduation, including the loss of three year starter at qb Clint Marks & all everything rb Eugene Goss, & only one returning starter on the offensive line. as for the Owls, Howard Schnellenberger has this building block headed in the right direction, with 19 starters returning, including all the skill positions. there's a buzz brewing in south Florida & with a bitter taste still lingering from last year, i see a focused group coming out of the gate, so i'll play,
