trivial question really

what do the icons on the left of each message on the forum mean, the coloured and greyed statfox icon.
cant seem to figure out what the coloured statfox icon represents, new post since last read, new post in last x minutes, unread thread.

If the icon is 'colored', there is a new post that you haven't viewed yet.
