Purdue won six of last eight games vs Northwestern, but teams split last four games played here; Boilermakers won last seven games, winning by 23 at Michigan in Big 11 opener Tuesday. 9-1 Wildcats haven't played in 8 days; they're 2-1 on the road, losing by 16 at St John's, winning at Northern Illinois/Texas-Pan Am.
Kentucky won four of last six games vs Louisville, which has injuries to Swopshire-Buckles-Marra (all out) to deal with; Wildcats won two of last three visits to Louisville, but are playing in new arena for first time. 11-1 Cardinals scored 114-104 points in last two games; they were held to 46 in only loss, 52-46 at home vs Drexel. Kentucky lost by a hoop at North Carolina in itsonly true road game so far.
Michigan State had won eight in row vs Minnesota before losing in OT to Gophers in Big 11 tourney last March; Gophers lost last six visits to East Lansing by 11-19-24-6-29-7 points. Spartans are 3-4 in last seven games- they scored 55-58 points in last two losses. Minnesota lost its Big 11 opener 68-60 at Wisconsin Tuesday.
Home side won last nine Washington-UCLA games; Huskies lost last four visits to Westwood by 22-14-9-1 point. Washington won in OT at USC Tuesday, in Pac-10 opener- they lost previous road game by point at Texas A&M. UCLA won its Pac-10 opener by 9 vs Washington St; Bruins won last five games; they're 2-1 as an underdog.
Xavier is now down three regulars with Canty (foot) out 4-6 weeks; the Musketeers upset Florida 76-64 in Gainesville LY. Xavier is 8-3, 5-0 at home with wins over Butler/Wake Forest. Florida hasn't played in nine days- last game was PPD- they're 2-1 on road, winning at Florida State by 4, American by 19, losing to Central Florida in Orlando by 3.
Washington State is 7-3 in last ten games vs USC, sweeping Trojans by 7-4 points LY; State won three of last four visits here, but Coogs are in last game of epic 6-game, 2-week road trip- they looked tired in loss at UCLA Wednesday. USC shot 34.5% from floor, 4-21 from arc in OT loss to Washington Wednesday. Trojans are 3-3-1 as a favorite.
Ohio State won last four games vs Indiana, winning last two visits here by 12-17 points; Buckeyes won their two road games, at Florida by 18, at Florida State by 14- they've taken over #1 spot in lot of polls due to Duke's Irving getting hurt. Hoosiers lost last three games, scoring 61-69-60 points in losses by 6-9-9 points to No Iowa-Colorado-Penn State.
UConn won four of last five games vs South Florida, but lost 75-68 LY in Tampa; Bulls lost last two visits here, 69-50/64-50. USF hasn't lost a game by more than 9 points, but they've lost five of last six games- they were 5-2-1 vs spread as an underdog. UConn lost Big East opener by 15 at Pitt, with Walker scoring 31 of their 63 points- they need balance.
New Mexico State won last three games vs Boise State by 10-3-3 pts; six of last nine series games were decided by 5 or less points. Aggies are 3-2 in last five visits here, with losses by 10-3 points. Broncos are 2-5 in last seven games after beating La Tech by 11 in WAC opener. Aggies are 4-1 in last five games after winning WAC opener by 5 at Idaho.
3-10 Nevada is down this year, but they've won six of last seven games vs Hawai'i, winning last seven games played here, by 13-3-1-18-20-11-6 points. Wolf Pack is just 2-10 vs D-I teams, but did beat Montana here by 15- Griz is pretty good, but that was season opener, long time ago. Hawai'i is 0-3 on maimland, losing by 1-21-8 points.
Tennessee has been struggling, 2-3 in last five games, beating Belmont by a point, 29-point dog UT-Martin by 6 (they lost previous game by 60); Vols are 3-6 vs spread as favorite. Charleston is 2-1 as underdog, losing by 5 to North Carolina, 7 to Clemson, 9 to Rhode Island, 1 to Maryland. Southern Conference double digit road underdogs are 15-10.
Seton Hall won last three games vs Cincinnati by 3-4-7 points; Bearcats are 13-0 but still ranked just 32nd- they've played #340 schedule (out of 345 teams). Pirates are shorthanded without top scorer Hazell- they are 1-1 in true road games, losing by 6 at Temple, winning at UMass by 25. Cincinnati is 5-2 against the spread as a favorite this season.
Montana won Big Sky title game at Weber State LY, after being down 20 at the half; Wildcats' best player Lillard (foot) is out for year, but Weber won last two visits here, by 1-8 points. Weber lost Big Sky opener by 3 at Montana State; they lost last three games vs D-I teams. Montana won at UCLA; they're 2-6 against the spread as a favorite.
