Have been reading some back stuff on here about hof status but I do not see anything different or any other forums. Am I missing something here? disapointing evening to say the least. This one hurt on a personal level as it did to all the other Bear fans out there. Our worst fears came true. Rex had a rough game but it was not all his fault. Bad timing on turnovers and execution cost them. Several plays to name but Iwont because we all watched the game and know what I am talking about. The COlts offense was like a brand new pair of of wiper blades going down the interstate in a steady state of rain. It was as if it did not exist. This game brought back memories of the NCAA Championship game when Ted Ginn broke one out of the gate and that was it for them. I will not elaborate anymore. I lost my bet but it wasnt a big issue as I did not go any bigger than I would any other game that I liked but I lost a lot more when my boys went down in defeat due to sloppy play and mistakes. I was a BEAR fan for many years leading up to the 1985-6 Ditka/Ryan Bear team. That was redemption for the many years of suffering for Bear fans....I was one of the very few Bear fans in Hawaii where most fans go with west coast teams.

Prior to 85-86, I remember many games where Bears won the physical battle on the field, but score-wise lost game after game after game....Bears played the most physical game (similar to the glory years of the Steelers w/Ham, Lambert, Greene, etc.). They physically beat up their opponents...put the smack down on em, kicked ass..but lost the game!!!!!!!!!! Until 1985-86 where they kicked ass PLUS win the games.

My sympathies go to you and to....Sister Jean Kenny and Mike Ditka, who went with the Bears too.

I went with the Colts early on...it wasn't a tough decision really. But might have been tough if i relied only on the heart.

At least there was that magic awesome moment in 85-86. I consider that Bear SB team in 85-86, the best i have ever seen on the field. Their Defense was a second Offensive team so to speak. They had a tight "family" like the Willie Stargell Pittsburgh Pirates. Just cherish those moments.

well said. Bears fans still love that team and no team will ever compare to that one. It is not fair to compare but the love for that team is still there after all these years and I have been in heaven the last few days watching shows and old highlights of that season with vivid memories as a kid. I am in my 30's now and have not been able to feel the same elation in a big game since. I am a BUlls fan and they won championships but not the same passion and enthusiasm as the Bears. My Illini came so close a few years ago only to fall to UNC. My CUbs came oh so close in 2003 and all Cub fans will agree that hurt worse than anything imaginable. The 85-86 Bears are my favorite team of all time in any sport and always will be. Even if the Bears would have killed the Colts tonight they would not be able to escape the shadow of the Real mONSTERS OF THE mIDWAY. AKA the best team ever. Thank you for the condolences..
