I was just there to drum up some more support for Statfox when my posts were deleted and I just received an email saying that I'm no longer a welcome poster on their forum since I broke their posting rules. I'm going to keep trying though since I DON'T like being told what to do. Asking is one, but telling is another.
I've been called worse. By people a lot closer to home. By the way if anyone has a disagreement with this they can contact me on my website at www.........
Nick, you're not allowed to advertise any other sports capping website on a picks forum. Eventhough you were not acting as a tout, that's the way they were going to interpret your post.
Anyway, I posted there somewhat infrequently about a year and a half ago, and I would make some picks with some occasional statfox stats attached to them. I would come back later and find the posts modified. The problem was other posters would then ask where I got the stats from.....
The same thing happened at the major wager.
I think what it comes down to is that they don't have much more than their forums to keep people at their sites and obviously they feel threatened of losing their regulars.
Covers is a very good forum to talk capping. However there will always be a few idiot touts which come on there with their big ass egos and ruin it for everyone else. Because of that, covers won't leave anything to chance so whenever someone mentions a tout site they'll delete the name. I'm mean heck we do the same thing here don't we? Much like this place here, the message boards are for non-professional handicappers.
Nick:
I posted a message on your covers thread which somewhat defends your system. Take it for what it's worth.
CJB,
I agree with the policy, it makes sense from covers' standpoint just as I assume it does here. But in reality, the supposed goal of all these forums is to help each other get an edge in the battle vs the books. I personally think sharing some stats does that and I found it to be the only way to gain some respect as a newcomer on a board. And I guess I felt it was appropriate to give credit where due.
Oh well, I finally found a home here (tear, sob....)
Murdock, ????? I'm not English if that's what you're referring to...the bbc was an acronym for basketball capper till I got sick of typing it on the old board (and I had a bad run of hoops at one point!)
I just went to Covers and did a search of your recent posts. I really don't see where you were promoting Statfox only noted a source. It appeared to me that you were just trying to share a great system and and capping knowledge. Within the past several days here, I recall some posts re: umpire stats and someone posted that Covers has some great ump stats and told another poster where to find them at Covers. I didn't see where any of the Statfox monitors deleted those posts. I guess that Covers has thiner skin than the Styatfox people do. BTW-As hard as it is to believe, it was nice to see CJB somewhat defend your system there.
If you have found a brick of gold, would you walk around the neiborhood and ask who wanted to help you divde it up? At this point I wouldn't care less who over there knew it. This is a StatFox based trend and I personally think those who have the decentcy (check spelling) to use this wonderful site should benefit from this wonderful system. Look at it this way fellas, this system has gone 62-10 since its inception and only losing two times in a row twice. That's 86% winners. I know the urgency to fill everyone in on it, but just like me, it wasn't until I came to StatFox that I was fortunate enough to benefit. On the downside, I missed 59 of those winners and currently stand 3-1 (-100). People WILL benefit from this in more ways than one and I am speaking from experience. Heck, I have people contact me everyday to find out who it is. Tell them to sign up to StatFox and you will sell them the system (lol). I told my wife it won't be long until she will come home from work and ask me who we got. She is tickled to death. I guess that's another way I am benefiting if you know what I mean. I've been mining for 22 years in this game of handicapping and I think finally after thousands of dollars in "education", the measly little $50 I plucked down to StatFox has paid the full tuition. Let's keep rolling and I look forward to participating in the next 62 WINNERS!
