Enjoyed watching my Blackhawks this season and as great as a season they had, they may come up short in the playoffs. Pens are the team to beat, but there is no value at +300. Not to sure about Chicago's goalie situation so I'll pass on them at +350 as well. The team that's playing well and undervalued is the New York Rangers.
Stanley Cup
New York Rangers 100/1600
First Round Futures
Chicago 820/200
NYR 330/300
LA 360/300

Blackhawks are banged up tonight and if they get the quick lead, they will play the boards.
Chicago under 5*
LA will play over their heads tonight in defense of the cup and the Blues are busy getting new grips for the golf clubs.
Was at game 1. The United Center was rocking - too bad it didn't have any effect on the players for 1/2 the game.
I have a feeling they do not come out flat again. I was also impressed with Crawford's game after allowing that soft goal. Usually he folds after that.
Who would have thought that Bolig would have played as much as he did. I think he is going to be the new John Scott. They don't get pushed around as much when he is around.
Should be a good playoffs. Good luck to you!!!!!!!
No time to elaborate other than the trend plays are cashing while my gut plays are taking a crap. My future wagers are fairing any better.
05/06
Play AGAINST WASHINGTON using the money line in Road games after 3 or more consecutive unders
The record is 1 Wins and 12 Losses for the last two seasons (-12.35 units)
The under hit in all but one of those games.
The Rangers have no choice to press the boards tonight.
All points to an under play, but so did the last three I missed.
GRAND SALAMI under 19.5 -110
NY Rangers under 5 (2.3/2.0)
SOG
Boston Over 32.5 (2.5/2)
Dogs have juicy lines tonight, but since I'm cold I'm cutting my loses.
Habs will be still licking their wounds tonight and I think they will both come out flat. Even though the last two contests have gone over the total, both teams only combined on 4 of 23 power plays. No Doubt Bettman will want quick whistles tonight and that should help the cause.
Ott / Habs Under 1.5 first period (2.6/2)
Also played a small prop:
Will Either Team Score in the First 10 Minutes of the Game
NO* -115
Play ON SAN JOSE using the money line in All games after a win by 2 goals or more
The record is 11 Wins and 1 Losses this season (+9.50 units)
Are the Canucks going to roll over and go play golf tomorrow? More than likely, but I'm not laying (-170)
Easy cash on the Ottawa first period under last night. With that said, logic plays have been hit and miss.
Interesting line movement when the Wash / NYR line was posted at several Vegas books.
Capitals were hit hard on the money line, while a large amount of wagers came in on the Ranger Puck line. Very odd. Another trend is the action on the over in three of the four contests tonight. Boston & Toronto were hit really hard along with the Bruins puckline.
Keeping an eye on...
Boston Puckline +220
Salami Over
Rangers under 5 -115
Home Team is hitting 90% on the ML the last 12 contests between these two. 3 -1 this round. Some are looking at the netminding change in Montreal as a big downgrade because of the other night, but I feel the kid played decent down the stretch. It's tough coming off the bench and he has gotten beat up in those spots.Sharps are betting against him as well. With that said, he was 3-0 at home in games he started this season.. With a 3 - 1 lead the pressure is off...a little. Ottawa's PP has only connected on 3 of 20 opportunities. HABS have struggled at home lately, but the crowd tonight should help bring it home. I think the price has bottomed out and has value.
Montreal -2.5 / 2.0
Parlay
Chicago / Pittsburgh -2 / 1.8
Chicago / Pittsburgh / Montreal -1 / 2.5
SOG
Minnesota under 28.5 -2.4 / 2.0
New York under 32 -2.4 / 2.0
Play OVER CHICAGO using the puck line in All games in all games
Not used to hearing the words over or under re: the puck line. Would the bet above mean play CHI -1.5? Then, would playing Chicago UNDER the puckline mean MIN +1.5? Sorry if it sounds stupid. I play puck lines at times, but never paid attention to how it's phrased when written out. Thanks!
I'm assuming your referring to a stat trend like this one:
05/09/2013 (37) MINNESOTA @ (38) CHICAGO |
Play OVER CHICAGO using the puck line in All games second half of the season
The record is 39 Overs and 13 Unders this season (+20.70 units)
Minnesota is the play.
A friend of mine who invests in the NHL pretty heavy just plays puckline parlays.
Example would be to play a moneyline bet with a puck line wager on a team. He just spot plays teams early on and late in the season. This year was an exception with the compressed schedule. Decent ROI.
HABS tossed in the towel last night. down 3 - 1, your at home with nothing to lose and you mail it in. Budaj just took a crap after the 3rd goal. Wiseguys pounded that line when it went up and I should have laid off.
DVR working OT tonight.
NYR @ WASH
Few nice trends that total 37 - 11 on this contest going under 5 goals.
Washington under 5 (2.1/2.0)
Boston -200 + is insane, yet folks are lining up and buying the Bruins. What I like is the value on the over. Trends are mixed, but most Vegas books have the SOG total set at 72. IF the Leafs can light the lamp twice, it should cash.
