Harvard vs. Penn (12 p.m. ET): A steam move at 5Dimes has pushed the total down from 135 to 132 in the Ivy League final despite a majority of bets being on the over.
NBA schedule is loaded with nine games and, with very little competition from college hoops, will drive the day’s largest betting handles. While sharp bettors are mostly ignoring the college basketball slate, they quickly found a soft number in tonight’s Cavs-Lakers matchup and are taking advantage in early morning betting.
Tonight’s Cavaliers-Lakers matchup (9 p.m. ET) opened with Cleveland as a 3-point road favorite at Bookmaker.eu, and once again, the public can’t stop laying the points. At the time of writing, 84% of tickets and 88% of dollars wagered on the spread have taken the Cavs, yet the line has dropped to -2 across the betting market.
While tickets are all over Cleveland, professional bettors have jumped on the Lakers and the points. Our Bet Signals have triggered two Reverse Line Moves on Los Angeles, revealing that sharp action is the cause of the early line movement.
These two have little interest in defense, in each teams last 10 games resspectively, each has held only 1 opponent to single digits.I am weighting Over here.
Very interested in the Lakers (90% of money on the Cavs, but line moves a point in their favor?) Add that to the general overrating of the still-broken Cavs since the trade deadline and it seems to add up to a strong play.
Dallas is also one to keep an eye on: they've managed to play Houston really close in each of their games this year, and I think the Rockets are going to take a game or two to bounce back to dominance in the wake of the loss of their winning streak. I could easily see this being one of those malaises of an afternoon for them, maybe pulling out another of the 104-97 wins they've already had twice vs. the Mavs this year. I'd also look at the under in this one.
Dallas is 7-4 ATS on no rest, covering by an NBA-best 5.6 points. After a win, they are 15-5 and cover by 5.2 points, 2nd-best in the NBA.
