Go Red Raiders
Home Underdog vs. Texas
Night Game
TT - #1 or #2 biggest offensive line in NCAAF. Will they be able to handle Texas blitzes and pass rush?
My answer is: YES they can.
Offensive line is not just big averging 6'6 and 330 lbs., but they are talented and they are last year starters w/lots of experience and upper classmen. That mix is a potent one. Reflect on it.
Texas played 3 top Big12 schools and expended a lot of energy and optimal effort. Is it human to expect a letdown, fatigue, decline in sharpness, motivation, etc. in the 4th big game? Form cycle is on downward path. Maybe
Big mismatch of TT receivers vs. Texas secondary. TT taller, can jump high, mobile, experienced, sure hands, athletic against a Texas defense secondary that is banged up, 5'10, inexperienced w/2 freshmen.....
Defenses. Ruffin has improved the TT defense. They will demonstrate it in tonights' night game.
Intangibles: Who will have the energy and intensity to last 60' in Lubbock. One has been on the #1 target list for a while and form most likely will be in declining mode; the other has been building in intensity and sharpness over last 8 games.
