What a smart sportsbook Pinnacle is

The total for the Yankees game closed at 8.5 and the line was -136.

Why was the line that high ? One would expect Pinnacle to increase the total to 9 and lower the line.

They didn't. They kept the total at 8.5 and beefed up the line to -136. It is as if they knew that a total of 8.5 would be a good bet and made sure that any potential winner wins the least amount possible.

They were correct. The final total was 21.

Raising the total to 9 would have forced them to lower the line making them vulnerable in the process.

They did the right thing. These guys are smart. They know the game. I have seen them do that many times in the past. They are correct many times too.

My "Oly" lines tonight on game total.

May 14 6:21pm Baseball - Winner ***********************
1. Baseball - New York Yankees/Oakland Athletics - total Over 8½ (-120)

Agree that Pinnacle is sharp with their lines, but this is yet another reason that I now use Oly for the majority of my wagers.

As far as Oly's 20 cent lines, they only hurt for the player that use's them and lose's with them. Most of my wagers are ML's so its no skin off my back. Oly and at times Canbet, for me offers the best type lines for my type of wagering. Also with their 10 point buyback options, many times I have bought down a game 10 points and still won even when the ML took a dumper. Pinnacle has gotten very greedy with its dispute resolutions, customer service and their Casino is so one sided in favor of the house, its a joke and sucker play. Their Public Relations policies needs to be readdressed and updated. The Aussies and Limies, must think most most of us Yanks are greedy stupid, suckers and can't see through their cheap .08 cent bait lines and take in the whole picture. For me Pinnacle come on lines price is not worth the cost and lack of customer service.
