KBO 6/07

Quick little stat: Sundays have produced high scoring games around the KBO. Over 20 games so far on Sundays there have been 267 runs scored!! That’s an average of 13.4 runs per game. Teams play all week so the result is tired undermanned bullpens backing starters on Sundays. I wouldn’t be surprised if that continued tomorrow.

LG/Kiwoom

Probable Pitchers: Cha Woo-Chan (L) vs Han Hyun-Hee (R)

Woo-chan: The 32 year old southpaw had his best start since opening day last time out as he gave up only 1 run over 6 innings against the Kia Tigers. In between those quality starts Woo-Chan struggled mightily in 3 outings surrendering 13 runs over 15 innings (7.8 ERA). One of those starts came against Kiwoom when he gave up 5 runs in only 4 innings of work. The Bad news for Woo- Chan is that he will be facing a red hot Kiwoom team who has destroyed left handed pitching thus far hitting .310 over 171 AB (2nd in KBO). One piece of good news is that Woo-Chan has only issued 7 walks thus far (2.3 BB/9) which will be important to continue as the Heroes rank 1st in the KBO in drawing walks which has often jump-started their offense. A 4.89 FIP & career FIP well north of 4 does not inspire me to have much faith in the left hander from one start to the next. Another concern heading into this one is his struggles against right handed batters. So far in 2020 RHH are hitting .313 against Woo-Chan. The Above mentioned Ha-Seong, Dong-Won (.364 vs LHP) & Park Byung-Ho are all dangerous RHH that Woo Chan will have to approach very carefully. Ha-Seong in particular has been on fire of late hitting over .400 in his past 6. Even Kiwooms 2 best Left handed hitters Seo Keon-Chang & Lee Jung Hoo hit southpaws well (.318 & .400 respectively)
