Why is Manning the MVP & Not Rhodes ??

CP/AT YDS TD INT
P. Manning 25/38 247 1 1

Rushing
ATT YDS TD LG
D. Rhodes 21 113 1 36

Is it Because He P. Manning ?????

Body of work...everyone knows who Peyton is. I agree that Rhodes was a big spark in the game tonight though.

Peyton deserves it!!!

Without Manning. The colts would have lost against the Patriots.

I'm pretty sure most these things are decided before the game. If the Colts win, Peyton is the MVP because he is more marketable and a more recognizeable household name

Also, although I can't prove it, I agree with jkaul. I'm sure Buster and his kinfold are behind this. :).

M & M...............

Forget about "THE BIG PICTURE" for this Season.....

Who helped the most in WINNING THIS GAME.........
Who ran for OVER 5 yards per carry and scored a TD ??
Longest run 36 yards ??

You think that Manning did it by throwing for 247 yards a 1 TD and 1 INT ???

Peyton Manning wasn't even playing the game in the second half. He handed to Rhodes and he busted for 5-10 yards a pop. He worked his ass off and was clearly the most valuable player of this one game. Its not supposed to be about a body of work. Its all a joke...................................

if you're gonna go that route...

who had the pick 6 to pretty much seal the deal? or how about bob sanders and the way he played? they all did a lot to do with the win, but peyton manning is the leader of the team. whether you want to believe it or not, peyton lead the team to a victory today.

i did have it going to either peyton manning or dominic rhodes, but peyton was tonight, and always has been the leader of the colts.

Has anyone thought about maybe giving the MVP award to the offensive line? Is that even possible? The Bears could not get to Manning and the Colts line opened some pretty big holes. If I had Buster's vote I would vote for the O-Line.

i'd say numbers aren't everything. the qb position is one of leadership. everyone on that team looks to him for guidance on the field and to keep them calm. not because he is peyton manning, but bc he is the QB. that's just how the game is set up. the QB keeps it together. i get so tired of peyton haters. don't hate the player, hate the game. This guy is a class act, accepts responsibility when they lose bc of vandershank and now he deserves this because he leads the best team in the NFL. he is the MVP.

this was already decided before the game even started.if indy wins peyton is mvp.the only way he does not is if rhodes had a timmy smith day.

unfortunate maybe? but as i posted the other day the qb's have been mvp in 19 of the 41 superbowls, and i will bet you that you go back to some of those and find someone more deserving also.

it is all just hype, media attention, commercials, etc. just like if OSU had won it would have been smith no matter what

not that it matters

but i guarantee that if the bears won the superbowl instead of the colts (thank god that didnt happen), rex grossman would NOT have been the mvp. but then again... i dont know who they would've given it to since no one (except hester) from the bears did anything spectacular...

Colts offensive line seems about right. They were the ones doing great blocking and allowing holes for Rhodes to run right up the middle almost effortlessly in my opinion. But I'm also sure if Payton needed to throw some more tds, that wouldn't have been a problem. It was just that Rhodes had some huge holes to run everytime, so why would he throw the ball that much in the 2nd half?
