NCAA Basketball **Top Plays** (Saturday, February 3, 2007)
**Top Play #1**
Georgia Tech (-2.5) (-110) over Clemson*
*This line is currently available at betus, sportsbook, olympic, bodog and cris. Georgia Tech remains a Top Play at -3 or less.
Georgia Tech looks to avenge a one-point buzzer beater loss handed down by Clemson in January, and with point guard Javaris Crittendon guiding the offense, the Yellow Jackets should walk away with a 6-8 point win. In the first meeting, Georgia Tech led by nine points with fourteen minutes remaining, and ultimately lost when the Tigers made a lay-up with two seconds left on the clock. Today, revenge is sweet. . .
----------------------------------------------------
Play On - All teams where the line is +3 to -3 (Georgia Tech) - after being beaten by the spread by more than 12 points in two consecutive games, good team, winning 60-80% or more of their games on the season.
(24-4 over the last 5 seasons; 85.7%)
This system is 15-3 ATS since 2002 and 31-15 ATS since 1997.
----------------------------------------------------
Play On - A favorite (Georgia Tech) - good 3-point shooting team (>=36.5%) against an average 3-point defense (32-36.5%), after 4 straight games - allowing a shooting pct. of 47% or higher.
(33-11 since 1997; 75%)
This system is 11-5 ATS since 2002 and 20-8 ATS since 2000.
----------------------------------------------------
Georgia Tech is 11-1 SU and 6-2 ATS at home this season, and are averaging 85.7 points per game on 51.7% shooting, including an unbelievable 41.2% from beyond the arc. On defense, the Yellow Jackets are limiting opponents to 62 points per game on 40.1% shooting (28.8 from 3-point territory). Finally, Tech is forcing 19 turnovers on their home floor, including 12 steals.
I never like to invest on road underdogs who are incapable of making their foul shots, and that best describes Clemson who are making a woeful 60.2% from the charity stripe (on the road), including 47.1% over their last five games. On the season, the Tigers are a terrible 58.8% from the charity stripe. No thank you.
Finally, Georgia Tech is 12-3 ATS off four or more losses, including 7-0 ATS versus an opponent off a loss.
Lay the small number and invest with confidence.

**Top Play #2** (SUPER BEST BET)
Michigan State (+2) (-120) over Ohio State*
*This line is currently available at betus, cris, sportsbook and grande after buying the hook. Michigan State remains a Super Best Bet at +1.5 or more, and qualifies as a Best Bet at +1 or more. Michigan State would qualify as a Top Play at -1 or better.
Michigan State is 29-4 SU at home when playing with revenge, including 15-2 ATS when playing with same-season revenge. This season, the Spartans are limiting opponents to 52.3 points per game on 35.3% shooting, including 30.9% from beyond the arc. These numbers are significant because Ohio State is a woeful 6-46 SU on the road versus opponents with win percentages of .650 or better when scoring less than 70 points, including 15-25 ATS.
Michigan State is 15-5 ATS at home following consecutive road games and 14-5 ATS at home following a conference tilt, while Ohio State is an alarming 1-9 ATS on the road after playing four consecutive games as a favorite.
When I graded this game, Michigan State held a +1.5 advantage on offense and a +8 advantage on defense. These numbers are predicated upon a handicapping 'grade' system I have developed which evaluates a team's season-long performance, as well as their recent form (last 5 games). My system also incorporates important intangibles and various computer simulations. Based on my numbers, Michigan State should be favored by at least 4 points this afternoon so we are getting excellent line value with the home underdog.
The Spartans will win this game on their home floor so grab the points and invest with confidence.
Good luck!

Strong Opinions
1. BYU (-3.5) (-110) over UNLV
2. Northwestern (+19) (-110) over Wisconsin
3. Duquesne (+1.5) (-110) over St. Bonaventure
Please be advised that these games are Strong Opinions only and, as such, do not qualify as Top Plays. I typically invest 1-1.5% of my bankroll on my Strong Opinions.
I'm stepping out for the afternoon but should be back for the evening games. I should have 1-3 additional Top Plays later this evening.
Good luck!
