it's either he wanted a raise, or they just wanted a new voice after 10 years. outside possibility was his failure to challenge that hit by pitch call that cost them game 2 in the ALDS. nats are already going to interview him.
Yea def a head scratcher... that non challenge was a BIG deal on sports talk radio for the Boston area.... WOULD HAVE BEEN WAY BIGGER DEAL had they lost that series for sure. Just can't believe they'd remove him so quickly.... New skipper could really stunt that upswinging team
with all the analytics in baseball now the manager is basically a human resource person now. the days of managing with gut instincts are long gone. guys like billy martin, earl weaver, sparky anderson and
the like could not manage now. joe torre was let go for the same reason. a shame really.
