Karl Hess removed by ACC and AAC

This political correctness crap has got to end. I have many friends that I joke and carry on with and no one has ever called me a racist. I'm of German decent and I've been called a hard headed German, Nazi, and quite a few other (racial slurs) while joking with friends. It does not bother me in the least. Maybe I'm too thick skinned but things like this don't bother me. I have black friends and I'll say thing like get your black ass over here, or Polish friends that I'll call a pollock, Or Italian friends I'll call Daigos. Spanish friends, spic or wetbacks ect ect. It doesn't bother any of us. Now I would never use those terms in anger or to offend anyone. It is just joking around. Now Karl calls this jerk by his ethic name and loses his job. JJust doesn't make any sense to me. He is a great ref and that is what he should be judged by. Both of these men know each other and Karl stays at his hotel and has conversations with him all the time.

Below is what he said and I don't see where it is offensive.

During Sunday’s men’s basketball game between Wake Forest and Louisville, referee Karl Hess got into it with Demon Deacons fan Mit Shaw, who was sitting courtside. “When I’m older, I want to sit in your seat & watch your Egyptian [rear end] ref a game,” Shaw, via Twitter, said Hess told him.

Shah, a hotel magnate who previously served on Wake Forest’s Board of Trustees, is of Indian descent.

Now it appears that Hess — who has been involved in a number of curious on-court situations, many during ACC games — will no longer work ACC games.

It's a very sad day in the world of sports.

any comments appreciated,

Pete
