N F L Wild Cards 2011.1 Stats & Thoughts

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Here are some stats and some thoughts about today's 1st game in the NFL's Wild Card Weekend:

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
----------------------------
#4 ... RATED DEFENSE
#16 .. RUN DEFENSE
#4 ... PASS DEFENSE
#7 ... POINTS ALLOWED

#6 ... RATED OFFENSE
#26 .. RUN OFFENSE
#3 ... PASS OFFENSE
#11 .. POINTS SCORED

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
--------------------------
#27 .. RATED DEFENSE
#21 .. RUN DEFENSE
#27 .. PASS DEFENSE
#25 .. POINTS ALLOWED

#28 .. RATED OFFENSE
#31 .. RUN OFFENSE
#19 .. PASS OFFENSE
#23 .. POINTS SCORED

The stats of these two teams heavily favor the SAINTS, both on DEFENSE & OFFENSE.

All 9 of the SEAHAWKS losses this year have been by 15 or more points.

They are 0-10 ATS coming off a home win.

They are 2-9 ATS coming off a division game the last 2 seasons.

They are 2-10 ATS VS. a team with a winning record the last 2 seasons.

They are 0-7 VS. a team with a winning record in the 2nd half of the season the last 2 seasons.

The SAINTS appear to be poised to defend their SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP and a big win here will definitely be a statement that they are ready.

They are PLAYOFF tested and should totally outplay the SEAHAWKS on both sides of the ball.

The SAINTS 4th rated DEFENSE is a surprise to many and the SEAHAWKS have the 28th rated OFFENSE - I think they'll have a hard time putting points on the board.

The SEAHAWKS are 2-4 O/U in their last 6 VS. the SAINTS.

The SAINTS are 0-6 O/U coming off a SU loss as a favorite.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS -10

UNDER 46

Good Luck Everyone!

NEW YORK JETS @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Here are some stats and some thoughts about today's 2nd game in the NFL's Wild Card Weekend:

N Y JETS
----------
#3 ... RATED DEFENSE
#3 ... RUN DEFENSE
#6 ... PASS DEFENSE
#6 ... POINTS ALLOWED

#11 .. RATED OFFENSE
#4 ... RUN OFFENSE
#22 .. PASS OFFENSE
#13 .. POINTS SCORED

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
---------------------------
#20 .. RATED DEFENSE
#25 .. RUN DEFENSE
#13 .. PASS DEFENSE
#23 .. POINTS ALLOWED

#4 ... RATED OFFENSE
#29 .. RUN OFFENSE
#1 ... PASS OFFENSE
#4 ... POINTS SCORED

REX RYAN, the JETS HC, is 1-5 all time VS. PEYTON MANNING.

The COLTS are 9-2 ATS coming off a division game over the last 2 seasons.

They are 21-4 SU in their last 25 @ home.

The COLTS OFFENSIVE LINE gave up only 16 sacks this season to tie for the lead in the NFL in that department.

Give MANNING time in the pocket and he will pick your DEFENSE apart, regardless of who you have in your DEFENSIVE backfield.

And the JETS have been showing signs that they really miss JIM LEONHARD at SAFETY since he went down with a season ending injury.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS -2
