LOS ANGELES – Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality. The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.
"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."
Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.
Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc

LIFE: Sometimes you're the baby, sometimes you're the diaper
America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!
Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.
Dr. Pepper is getting their moneys worth from this if you ask me.
To affiliate with GNR dropping can't be bad can it?
I heard on the radio that the album isn't worth the wait and that there are hoops to jump through to get the free pop but I don't listen to those whores LOL!
I hate critics that still think they are the judge of an album after a few listens.
Some of my favorite albums and movies are shunned by the mouth pieces o' sheite...
I don't plan on "cashing" in on the free Dr. Pepper because even though gas is cheaper now I'm not going to go out of my way to buy a pop LOL!
If I want a pop I buy a pop!
I hope the album is awesome!
I'm curious to hear what the sales are like?
Axl is a frisky focker and that's why I love him. He's older now and it probably makes him sick to have to deal with all of this.
I can see the love/hate with him but when I put myself in his shoes I can kind of understand.
He's dealt with a lot of change/"evolution" over these past 20 years and it's got to be harder than ever to put anything "on wax"...oops I mean megabytes.
Damng I miss going to the record stores/cd shops.
MP3 has cheapened things...
I'm going to absolutely Love this album w/ everything I can!
I plan on enjoying it with a Mr. Pibb LOL!!!
Get ready for the press to gang bang this thing right before our eyes!
I call for a new press that gang bangs the current press!
