I just did a quick check adding

wins+losses=0

to the query, to see if any game 1s are selected, and it came back with no results.

So, to double-check, I then did
wins+losses>=1

and it came back with the same results as the original query.

So, bottom line, I'm fairly certain now that no game 1s are included.

Maybe we can have a volunteer to keep a thread for this APRIL daily dog system ... anyone has time to do this? Best P/T job for a retired person. Just for APRIL.

I think weather.com will provide info re temperature in game start.

That link doesn't show any plays, but I just did by hand and it looks like White Sox, Pirates and Giants all fit today

the best way to play this system is to do it by hand and use weather.com for the game time temps. remember though to avoid games in which the underdog is playing for the first time to avoid the "not shutout previous game" criteria. no games yesterday or today

don't see any qualifiers

today because Pirates and White Sox don't have a previous game and game time temp in LA is supposed to be in the 60's.
Am I looking at this correctly?

I've discovered that the temperature is only filled in after the game.

So, the link I provided won't work to show upcoming games since the temperature in the database=none until the update after the games are over.

Here's a link that will show the games, but with no temperature filter. You will have to check the temperature and decide for yourself.

Azmat9's April MLB Dog system with no temperature filter

Also, my research into this (please verify yourself before risking anything) shows that with no temperature filter, the net profit is about the same, but a -LOT- more games are selected, so the ROI is much lower. I'm guessing that the fluctuations would also be a lot bigger, but haven't looked into that.

SFO tonight?

I believe SFO is a play correct? Weather.com says it is warm now there, but the game is at night. It should go under 59.

Has anyone seen how much better this does if you add the parameter: Home

Home Division Dogs are always a good starting point in my opinion.

SF-LA is not a play because the game is in LA and based on weather.com the temperature will be in the 60's for the entire game.

SFO? 4/1

I've got 57 degrees tonight at Dodger Stadium according to weather.com I guess its close.

Was wondering: does anyone have a logical explanaition for why the Dog would do better in cold weather against a division opponent. Just curious.

I don't know what to tell you on that one. Weather.com is telling me the temperature at 7:00 PST will be 74 degrees and then by 8:00 it will be in the 60's. For what's it worth, I do like the Giants in this spot tonight no matter what the temp. is. Like the UNDER too. Good luck whatever u decide to do!

Mariners, Pirates, Indians & Brewers all look like qualifiers today. Mets & D-Backs no go because it's too warm

I have the same unless the temp in Oakland doesnt drop below 59 by gametime. As of now Its suppose to be around 57 by gametime which would make Seattle a play.

FYI: You can also find the temperature (as well as wind conditions) at www.covers.com. Just click through to MLB, then pick the game match up, and then scroll down. You will see the weather conditions about two-thirds of the way down the screen on the left-hand side.

Azmat said, in an earlier tread, beware of Saturday games. The system has struggled on Sat.
