my april mlb underdog system

in yrs past, all of my mlb underdogs have had the following criteria in the months of march and april only:

1. line of less than 180
2. divisional opponent
3. not shutout previous game
4. game start temperature of less than 59 degrees

thats it. the system took alot of time to discover using sportsdatabase and the results for past years are as follows:

http://sportsdatabase.com/mlb.py/query?sort=query_header& text=D+and+month%3D4+and+line%3C180+and+
division%3Do%3Adivision+and+temperature%
3C59+and+p%3Aruns%3E0+and+season&submit=query

if u review my plays for previous years, they all have the above requirements. again this is only for the first month. i do not wager anymore and will not be posting plays. but this is what i used for anybody that would like to follow it. good luck in all that you do

"Thanks for sharing the details.... it will take a day or two to kick in, but I have the query written and ready to go!!"

Did you do anything to the query other than copy it from the query box on the link he provided?

Just curious if you found a way to tweak it.

Also wondering how often the temperature is updated in the database - anyone know? Do we need to check right before gametime, or is in the morning good enough?

This should show the 2010 plays, and the 2011 plays will show up on the bottom.

Doesn't work. Will see if I can work on it.

Okay, have usually had a problem with the links to sportsdatabase or killersports here, not sure why. Try this

http://tinyurl.com/azmat9-April-MLB-Dog-System

azmat9's April MLB Dog System

That seems like it works. Again, it will list the 2010 games, just a means of making sure it is working, then will show the 2011 games (and later, going forward) at the bottom.

another thought -- in yrs past saturdays were always a struggle for this system (maybe do to larger home crowds) as evidenced below, so u may want to not wager on that day --

http://killersports.com/mlb.py/query?sid=guest&sort=ON_PL& text=0%3Cline+and+month%3D4+and+line%3C1
80+and+division%3Do%3Adivision+and+tempe

Must be more to it than those 4 criteria, or, the list is incomplete.
There were at lot of games that fit prior to 4/9/10. Just curious, trying to get it right. It looks like a moneymaker. Thanks.

that list only looks at the last few games. try this link for season by season:

http://killersports.com/mlb.py/query?sid=guest&sort=ON_PL& text=0%3Cline+and+month%3D4+and+line%3C1
80+and+division%3Do%3Adivision+and+tempe

It only shows so many games by default. The older games will drop off the top of the list as new games show up at the bottom, but the cumulative record should be correct.

While according to the query there were 46 games last season, going 29-17, it is only showing 40 in the list.

So, when you say "a lot of games that fit prior ..." not sure if 6 counts as a lot, or do you have more than 46 games for last season?

"last question , were each teams 1st games a pass since #3 says no shutout ? or do we ignore #3 on game 1's ??"

Since it's checking if the prior game was a shutout, and -I THINK- (note the emphasis, I'm not not positive) the default is to NOT go to the prior season, I don't think it will list any game 1s for teams.

If you have an example where it is showing the game 1, let me know and I'll investigate further.
