I am 33, born and raised in Alabama, have a wonderful wife, and 6 kids ranging between 17 and 6 (second marriage, so between the two of us we have 6). I have been an absolute sports nut all my life. My favorite sport is basketball which puts me in the minority here. Nothing drives me crazy like people here discussing football recruiting in the middle of basketball season. I have been told plenty of times that I should be in Indiana, Kentcuky, or North Carolina. Don't get me wrong, I love college football, but only from the start of the season until the end of the season.
I work as an IT Systems specialist for the State of Alabama, and have done this for 7 years.
I also enjoy high school basketball. I have seen many of the "stars" before they realized how good they were and before the money went to their head. I haven't gone to the national tournaments as much the last few years as I used to, but I was able to see players like Kobe Bryant, Mike Bibby, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Ron Mercer, and many others when they were in high school. It's amazing how talented some can be at that age.
My "sports investing" began when I was about 18. Made alot of mistakes then and lost a ton of money. I stopped for a long time, and started back a few years ago, a lot more mature, and using money management a lot more than in the past. I still am susceptible to a "goofy" parlay every now and then, but do realize that's how you lose over time. I have learned alot in this forum from the excellent cappers here (at risk of leaving out lots of good ones, the ones who have helped me the most are RDTrains, Friday13th, Shadow, and MemphisMafia).
Thanks for starting this thread. I think it's pretty neat to "get to know" everyone a little better. I wish everyone the very best over the course of 2006.

Hello Everyone!
Getting to know everyone on this sight with a short bio was a great idea...
I have been reading the posts on this sight for about a month now and I have been thoroughly impressed with the handicapping skill most have shown week in and week out. The information has been as good, and in most cases better, than anything I've ever seen anyone try to charge money for. Kudos to all, keep up the good work.
I am 41 years old, married, with three kids. I am also employed in the horseracing industry as a track announcer. I won't say at what track, maybe you can figure it out. For this reason I have been interested in the horseracing picks that are posted frequently by MM and others. They've all been rather good. Especially MM's picks for Aqueduct yesterday. Nice Pick 4.
Anyway, I handicap for a living but my picks are shown on TV for folks to watch all over the country so I tend to kill my own odds. But it's a challenge that way, and I do pretty well. During our QH season last year I showed a net profit for best bets and longshot picks. That's a pretty hard thing to do when you drop your own odds after you handicap on tv and you HAVE to make picks for EVERY race all season long. I do okay.
I have bet sports on and off throughout my life but have been getting into it more and more lately. Mainly because we haven't been racing due to the hurricane's last fall. Oops, I probably shouldn't have said that much. Might give something away.
I would just like to congratulate everyone on the fine work you do. Keep it up and as I learn more about the NBA, NCAAB, HOCKEY and other sports handicapping I will throw in an opinion or two. GOOD LUCK!

JESUS CHRIST- SON OF MAN
Jesus of Nazareth is the name of the prophet believed by his followers to be the Son of God and the Messiah whose coming was prophesied in the Judaic tradition. His date of birth was originally put in the year 754 of the Roman calendar (or 0 B.C.), but the most recent analyses place the date before that--at least 3 B.C. and perhaps as early as 6 B.C. His crucifixion took place sometime between A.D. 29 and 33.
The Jews of his era eagerly awaited the arrival of the Messiah to deliver them from foreign oppression and internal division. What Christ offered, however, was not political emancipation but a new covenant with God based on the saving grace of divine love for each individual. Christianity, the religion he founded, enjoins human beings to emulate Christ by returning love even for persecution, and puts forward the Golden Rule as the moral basis of human relationships. The idea that Christ, as the incarnation of God on earth, suffered, died, and was resurrected for the salvation of humankind is the ultimate illustration of this principle. It underscores the uniquely important place of the individual in Christian thought and addresses itself to any who would believe in the Son of God.
