Introduction thread. Where you from? Best Sport? Etc.

Every so often someone here will run this type of thread. It has helped members to get to know each other a little better and allow us to know what part of the country we are from. Many times a poster in a certain area may have information about the weather, teams or players in their area that may be helpful to the forum. It hasn,t been done in a while so, lets update it.
Let me start it off.

I live in upstate NY just South of Albany and West of the Machachusetts line. Its apple, dairy and sheep country, loaded with Northern red necks and honest hard working people. I'm a high school graduate who has attended several local colleges for business related degrees and courses required in my line of work. At 61 years old, I have been sports gambling for many many years back into the early 60's and now usually restrict my major wagers to ML's in the NHL, NBA and MLB. You might say that I have a degree from Gamblers Univ. with my admissions paid the hard way to several bookies in my area. I'm semi retired and continue to work with a good friend in his new business and now lease out my family farm. Yes I'm surrounded by apples, sheep, deer and many new neighbors who have found our area to be a nice place to live.
BTW- The NY Giants have their pre season camp at the NYS -SUNY campus in Albany. We also have a semi pro single A baseball team in Troy called the Tri-City Valley Cats of the Houston Astro's and a semi pro hocker AHL team called the Albany River Rats of the NJ Devils.

nice idea

I am 27 born and raised in Los Angeles, but currently residing in Bayside, Queens, NY. I think my best sport is baseball (but have only been "investing" in sports for a few months so there's still a lot to learn), am a huge Dodger fan, and was 10 years old and in the stadium the night Gibson hit his HR off Eckersley in Game 1 of the 88 Series.

I'm a 27 year old full time stay at home dad who goes to college part time. I live in Maine about an hour north of Portland. We only have minor league teams around here, the closest being the Lewiston Mainiacs who play in the former Central Maine Civic Center where Jersey Joe Wolcott stopped a fight between Sonny Liston and Muhammad Ali in the 60's (the picture of Ali standing over Liston was published in Sports Illustrated). The Mainiacs are part of the Quebec Junior Hockey League, and I spent the past two years watching Sid Crosby come into town when he played in the league. The Sea Dogs are the AA affiliate of the Red Sox and have a miniature version of the Green Monster in left field, while the Portland Pirates have been an AHL franchise since 1994. They are now the Anaheim AHL franchise after years of being the Capitals minor league system. I have been capping since I was 14 years old and got serious about it in 2002. I feel my best sport is NCAA Football, and I am probably right. My teams are the Yankees(father was a Yankees fan), Expos(the Nationals don't exist to me),Patriots, Titans, Celtics and Canadiens(a little angry about the Joe Thornton Trade).

I'm 28. I'm a huge B-Ball fan. I play pickup ball regularly, and before my recent move, I would play up to 10 times per week. Love all things sports, except for watching some of the slower sports on TV. If it's a sport, I'll play it and probably have. Love Poker, but I've had too many bad beats to pursue it beyord recreation. I've played over 50,000 games of chess online. I'm an avg player by chess standards but would crush almost anyone here in 20-30 moves. If you think studying/capping games is hard, trying studying chess. I'm new to capping. Only been doing it for a few months. If it wasn't for winpicks, I'd be lost and broke. The greatest thing about capping is predicting an NBA game to total between 195-203 and one team to win by 8-11 and then watch both happen, just like you knew it would. For me capping is more than $$$. It's more about being right. My claim to fame is that my money management and capping skills are good enough that I've never had to reload my account. The $$$ I've started with is what is still there. I'm up about 35% over 4 months. It's slow. I watched my friend hit 2 team parlays with 50% of their roll on the line and get a jealous. But I know that will crack them at some point. I live in the rocky mountain area, and am a huge Jazz fan. I work full time and have a great family.

very thoughtful of you

I'm 24 and a proud father of a 5 year old girl. I live in the fine city of Amarillo Texas. There are no professional sports around here except for a CHL hockey team. In this part of the country, high school football is king. I grew up in a family of degenerate gamblers and I became one myself. I've been wagering on my own for the past 5 years. I play all of my football and basketball plays with a local bookmaker. However, my handicapping talent lies in the world of Formula One racing. I do have an online book but reserve it solely for F1 wagers. The first Grand Prix of the 06 season is on March 12 in Bahrain. I randomly post my football plays on this site, but around March 1 will attempt to give all of those on this forum some of my insights into my favorite sport(F1) and hopefully will have a profitable season.

53 years young with a 3 year old 4-legged son, Max of English Bulldog heritage. Born in Detroit but raised on Staten Island, NY.
Grew up idiolizing the Yankees & football Giants in the 60's, now I cheer for Houston teams. Graduated from St. Michael's in Burlington, VT and worked for 18 months in NYC at the World Trade Center. Currently live in Conroe, TX about 25 miles north of Houston, where I work as a locomotive engineer running freight trains for a Class 1 Railroad.

I'm pretty sure my favorite sport to watch & gamble on is football.

46, male, 3 teen aged kids (not with me), divorced (dating someone for over a years now). Born and raised in upstate NY (finger lakes area). Attended SUNY Binghamton; studied math and computer science. In June I will have worked for the same company 25 years, although it's been in 3 locations. 8 years in Endicott NY, 7 in Boca Raton FL, and now 10 in Austin TX. Professional computer programmer. In Austin everybody only seems to care about UT sports. UT academics and other sports don't seem to matter here. I attend Round Rock Express (Houston Astros AAA team), and Austin Wranglers (Arena football) games. I'm relatively new to gambling. Until the divorce a couple of years ago I never set foot inside a casino. I now play poker, blackjack, and sports. The math aspect makes sense to me, so these are winable games. My sports picks seem to be very streaky. I'll win 75% one month, then 25% the next month. I'm always looking to learn more. As time goes on my sports picks are becoming more and more winners.

I'm Michael K. ( Friday13th )

A profesional capper since 1991...

I have a few problems about 18 years ago ( in 1986 and 87 ), when I use to fix NCAAB and NCAAF games...

Me and few friends make a lot o money in that days...

So... like you must know, not all the people whas happy about that ( you know what I mean )

Today, I'm in peace with myself and my family... even though at this point in my life, I can't go back to the good US...

For the moment I live near Buenos Aires Argentina.., but I think of myself like Robert De Niro in the movie "Heat"... 30 seconds and I'm out !

* By the way my best sport is the NBA and my worst MLB

I'm 33, born and raised in the small but growing county of Medina which is about 25 miles south of Cleveland. I have a wife of 7 years and a 3 month old son. I hunt, fish and spend as much time as I can outdoors. I work full time as a buyer for a large plumbing company owned by my dads twin brother. I have been betting on sports for about 3 years. My favorite is football. I am a huge homer and I love the Browns, Cavs and Indians. I am also a RABID Ohio State Buckeye fan. My favorite capper is RDTrains and I drive a Chevrolet pickup. I was burned by a tout known as Duke and I am very glad to have found a gambling family like this. Happy New Year. GLTA

Great Idea

Hey All- My real name is Paul and I am a 34 married father of 2 boys(4 & 8 months old). My family and I reside in a southwest suburb of Milwaukee, WI.

I am a lifelong Packer, Badger, Brewer and Yankee(grandpa) fan. I would like to think that I have above average knowledge of these teams as I follow all of them very closely and with a passion. If you ever need a team tip, you can call on me. Professionally I am the Production Manager of a Crane company. That's right, I build (construction) cranes. Every little boys dream! My log name of nymick7 derives from the greatest baseball palyer that ever lived, Mickey Mantle.

I consider my favorite sport to be baseball but probably have more success in NFL & College FB. I am fairly new to the site but am learning alot from all of you with great appreciation. I bet alot but small amounts. My average play is around $30 but I have been known to play a dozen college games and all NFL games in a weekend. I think this forum rocks and I also hang around JDF from time to time. I am still learning the "art" of capping and I hope to contribute alot more insights in the future.

Thanks for the feedback, tips and help from everyone... STATFOX RULES!

40 years old, no wife, no kids, so I can spend pleanty of time capping, and that is what I love to do. Lived on Long Island for 32 years, the last 8 in Vegas. I'm a diehard Mets and Jets fan. I am a sales rep for a sports nutrition distributor. The 3 times of the year I always make money on sports are nfl exhibition season, as I am sure some of you remember my angle, ncaa bowl games and the ncaabb tourn, using sagarin lines and looking for a 4 point difference. I also play the horses, I'm not as good as Ms. MM, like to play Hollywood using a hot joc/trainer angle with quinella wages. I noticed this site in August and between the cappers here and fox sheets my bankroll has never grown as fast as it has, and to that I say thanks to everyone.

WOW...Great stuff...LOL. Think you have someone pictured, then BANG...total opposite.

30 yr old with wife ( 6 yrs.) and my first born "in the oven"!! Found out after $60 in preg tests and halftime of the Steeler/Browns game on Christmas Eve!!!

Been gambling since high school as I lived near a pool hall. Mostly on the degenerate acoholic gamblers that needed a "gabling fix" when they got their disablity checks once a month. Actually made a living on that while in college for about 2 yrs. That turned into Trotter betting and eventually Football and Basketball both College and Pro.

Sales Rep for a Steel Products Manufacturer, born and raised in Pittsburgh. Moved twice and came back twice....Will never move again!!

Love the forum and each of the unique personalities in here. Have made some very nice coin with the tips from many!! Thanks a bunch for a successful college and pro ofootball season to date!

Bike

Under 45 years old, living in the midwest. I had the priviledge of throwing confetti (along with 30,000 other people) under the car of George Brett during the world series parade and it caught fire. I gave 3 beers up for the cause and put the fire out. If you don't remember the last time the Royals were in the post season, don't feel bad.
