There was history made last night
Leon Draisaitl of the Oilers and Evgenii Dadonov of the Panthers each scored a penalty-shot goal in Florida’s 7–5 win at Edmonton. This was the first game in NHL history, regular season or playoffs, in which each team scored on a penalty shot, and only the fourth game in which two penalty-shot goals were scored.
The three other NHL games with a pair of goals on penalty shots saw them both scored by the same team: by the Canucks at Detroit on Feb. 11, 1982 (Thomas Gradin, Ivan Hlinka), the Sharks versus Washington on Dec. 30, 2009 (Ryane Clowe, Joe Thornton), and the Blue Jackets at New Jersey on March 19, 2017 (Lukas Sedlak, Brandon Dubinsky).
