I like it Mike, Switzerland only team in that group that can come within a goal imo.I saw something on lpwsports twitter where they have allowed just 3 goals in last 10 games! wow.Brazil opens with the Swiss, Under 2.5 is just -122 right now. I think that heads north.

Will add later in week, but will start it with this one.
World Cup Thursday 6-14
2* Saudi Arabia vs Russia Draw +322
Russia had 3 games in 2014 WC and managed just 2 goals in a fairly weak Group H where they participated in 2 draws. This version looks weaker and with very little attack and their new manager is defense first type,so expect some boring soccer from Russia.Saudi's look capable of stopping a limited Russian attack but are limited offensively themselves. The +824 price on Saudi Arabia is appealing, but with these two teams I think a 1-1 result is more likely and +322 is not a bad return. Houstonfan,
GL with those. I have same take on Saudi as I am not sure Russia could score 2 goals on my 9 year olds soccer team.I think their FIFA #70 ranking is a gift by FIFA. FIFA ranking are in my estimation awful for handicapping purposes, but not really able to find any decent power ratings for International Soccer.

Hoo boy.
What a way to start a World Cup. If you’re a fan of conspiracy theories, this is your World Cup Final, because in terms of geopolitical intrigue, this could be the best World Cup match of all time. Seriously, you can’t make it up. It’s like an episode of “Homeland” or something.
Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, are hell-bent on putting on a great event, so much so that the Kremlin powwowed with the top boys of Russia’s most fearsome hooligan armies and told them they best behave (they did not behave at Euro 2016). Not only do the Russians want this thing to go off without a hitch, they want their bad team to perform well. Take it away, Vlad:
“We very much expect — all fans and lovers of football in Russia — expect the team to play with dignity, for them to show modern, interesting football, and to fight until the end.”
Luckily, Russia drew what is likely the softest group in World Cup history, and they will open the show against the worst team in the field. How convenient.
While the spectacle of these two nations opening up the biggest sporting event on the planet is awesome on one level, in terms of the actual football, this tilt could be pretty dire — with both teams doing everything they can to avoid a loss.
That is especially true for the hosts, who can’t afford a banana peel with the world — and their fearless leader — watching. The visitors, assuming they haven’t been approached, would surely take a draw into their second match, and I think we will see the Green Falcons set up conservatively, inviting Russia to come at them. That could prove to be a useful strategy, as Sbornaya doesn’t offer much down the road.
I don’t see either team creating many chances, and I think we should expect to see a boring game in which neither team takes any risks. The extenuating circumstances surrounding this match make it a must-watch — the actual teams do not.

Bet to Watch
Under 2, 2.5 goals -117 (Bookmaker)*
In the first game of the World Cup, fans were treated to a goal party as Russia demolished Saudi Arabia, 5-0. It was a bit of a dud in terms of entertainment value, but luckily the schedule-makers did us all a favor on Day 2, as Iberian rivals Portugal and Spain are set to meet at 2 p.m. ET at Fisht Stadium in Sochi.
Spain come into the match as favorites, but La Furia Roja sacked their manager, Julen Lopetegui, on Wednesday after it was made public that he would take over Real Madrid at the tournament’s end. Fernando Hierro replaces Lopetegui and now has to deal with Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo in his debut.
Ronaldo and Portugal are the defending European champions and conceded just a single goal during the knockout rounds en route to the title. When bettors see Ronaldo vs. Spain, they automatically expect a high-powered matchup with tons of goals, but there’s reason to believe that won’t be the case.
Portugal won Euro 2016 thanks to a strong defensive effort — in addition to a lot of luck — and rely on keeping their shape and hitting teams on the counterattack. They don’t generate tons of chances.
Under Lopetegui, Spain did not lose a single game (14-0-6), and while their odds dipped a bit after the shock announcement, there’s so much quality in this side that if any team can handle something like such a shakeup on the eve of the tournament, it’s La Furia Roja.
I would expect Spain to continue to play the beautiful brand of football that they are known for with the likes of David Silva, Isco and Andres Iniesta pulling the strings. Spain will look to stay on the ball and severely limit Portugal’s chances while in turn trying to generate elite scoring chances of their own through their intricate passing combinations.
Even though Spain will have the lion’s share of the ball, Portugal’s compact, pragmatic defense could frustrate them. Look for Spain to dominate the ball, but don’t expect that possession to turn into a scoring frenzy. In fact, I expect this game to be low scoring — albeit entertaining — and think there’s a distinct chance that it can end 0-0. If you’re feeling frisky, taking the “exact score” at +750 on Bovada is good value.

World Cup 6-15
4* Iran vs Morocco Over 1.5 (-166)
I would have liked to have gotten this lower but still think this game gets 2 goals with something to spare. This is low largely because of perception that Morocco's games should be low scoring. 12 of Morocco's last 15 games have reached 2 or more and Iran has scored 1+ in 13 of last 15 games. This one could surprisingly turn into a shoot out. GL
