It matters not to me if you wish to open up 5 inning plays. I would actually endorse it- as any winning plays on the starting pitchers not having to get into a pathetic or tired bullpen can be of value, etc. This may be really important late in the season when clubs start to pull their starters for rest. However, I realize that the rules have been set and made simple.
