Crystal Palace at Huddersfield (Saturday, 10 a.m. ET, NBC Sports Gold)
Crystal Palace Odds: +147
Huddersfield Odds: +227
Draw Odds: +217
Over/Under: 2 (o-125)
The low over/under of 2 goals should have been a clear giveaway that this pick would be a draw, and it is. There are two historically profitable Bet Labs systems based on draws with low totals, and there’s no reason to stray from them in this match.

Crystal Palace could be boosted by the return of star Wilfried Zaha (groin injury), but he may not be 100% even if he starts. They still haven’t won an EPL match without him since 2016, a streak of eleven consecutive losses.

Both clubs will believe they can win this match and it’s a solid opportunity for each to pick up points. Public bettors have seemed to catch on to the draw but there’s still value at odds of +217.

The Bet: Draw +217

Leicester City at Bournemouth (Saturday, 10 a.m. ET, NBC Sports Gold)
Leicester City Odds: +213
Bournemouth Odds: +143
Draw Odds: +246
Over/Under: 2.5 (o-104)
This matchup probably won’t get much attention at the 10 a.m. ET time slot, but it has the potential to be the one to watch. Both clubs have multiple wins to start the season and have serious aspirations of finishing in a Europa League qualifying position.

Leicester City are healthy and also getting Jamie Vardy back after a three-match suspension, a player they badly need. Their expected goals scored (xG) has been near the bottom of the league without him, but they’ll have confidence they can get a result with him in the starting XI.

Bournemouth have home-field advantage and early metrics actually indicate that this club is underperforming based on results so far. They’re getting the majority of moneyline tickets by the public, but odds haven’t fluctuated much from the opener of +140.

The Foxes have played four competitive matches this season without a draw, but this will be the week they finally share the points. At +246 odds (28.9% implied probability), the draw is well worth a bet.

The Bet: Draw +246

Manchester United at Watford (Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET, NBC)
Man Utd Odds: +330
Watford Odds: -107
Draw Odds: +266
Over/Under: 2.5 (u-120)
Watford have been the most surprising club in the Premier League and are tied atop the table with Liverpool and Chelsea, all with perfect 4-0-0 records. Another win in a home match at night against a prestigious club like Manchester United could propel them to special things this season.

The Red Devils got off to a slow start this season but they played a solid first half against Tottenham despite losing, 3-0, and then bounced back nicely to win at Burnley, 2-0.

It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for Jose Mourinho and company, but he may be able to right the ship with a favorable schedule coming up.

This weekend won’t be easy, though, and public bettors have diverted their love from Manchester United to Watford. In a typical year, this matchup would see more than 75% of bets on Man United, but Watford’s early success has pushed it down to just 56% for Saturday.

The draw is one of the most unpopular bets of the weekend but there’s plenty of value at +266 odds, especially with movement toward under 2.5 goals. The moneylines on both Watford and Man United are too good for public bettors to pass up, but I’ll be rooting for a stalemate.

The Bet: Draw (+266)

Liverpool have scored in 64 of 80 Premier League matches since the start of the 2016/17 season.

That's 80%!

Betting odds: Wolfsburg vs. Hertha Berlin
Wolfsburg moneyline: +113
Hertha Berlin moneyline: +278
Draw: +213
Over/Under: 2.25 (+106/-129)
Kick-off: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. ET
Channel: Fox Soccer Plus, Fubo TV
While all eyes will be on champions Bayern’s match with Bayer Leverkusen in a repeat of last month’s German Super Cup, the best prices in the Bundesliga betting this weekend can be found elsewhere, starting with an early top-of-the-table clash. Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin are the only sides other than Bayern to have won each of their first two matches this season, so something has to give this weekend.

It’s a match, however, that the bookies strongly feel will be a low-scoring affair, perhaps in part to the visitors’ back-to-back clean sheets thus far.

However, historically meetings between the two at the Volkswagen Arena have been very entertaining indeed, with the hosts in particular enjoying great success in front of goal.

The Wolves have scored in each of their last nine home games against Hertha, and at least twice in eight of said matches.

All in all, there have been 38 goals across those meetings (more than four per game), meaning there’s a lot of value on the over 2.25 — even more so with both of these sides getting off to a strong start in front of goal thus far.

Bet: Over 2.25 goals

Betting odds: Schalke vs. Borussia Monchengladbach
Schalke moneyline: +195
Monchengladbach moneyline: +143
Draw: +234
Over/Under: 2.5 (-109/-111)
Kick-off: Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET
Channel: FOX Sports 2
Having finished second only to Bayern last season, Schalke have a lot to live up to. But it has been a disappointing start to the campaign for Domenico Tedesco’s charges. Back-to-back defeats preceded the international break, and this trip to ‘Gladbach is far from favorable. Factor in the upcoming distraction of a Champions League tie with Porto in midweek and things may get worse before they get better for S04.

Despite that, there’s not much to separate these sides in the odds, which isn’t an accurate reflection of how meetings between the two have tended to pan out at Borussia Park. In fact, the draw in this fixture last season ended a run of four straight home wins for the Foals, who have lost just one of the last 12 as hosts against Schalke and won nine of the last 11 in the league. With four consecutive home wins spanning back to last season, the odds on Dieter Hecking’s side to make that five are very tempting.

Napoli v Fiorentina | Saturday 15th September 2018, 17:00
This is a huge match, with Napoli coming into this on the back of a 3-0 defeat against Sampdoria.

That was not a surprise. We’ve often seen wonderful performances from the Doriani at home and Napoli’s defence has shown weaknesses. They were exposed against Lazio and AC Milan, too.

The same could happen here. Fiorentina should be able to notch with the quality of Federico Chiesa and Giovanni Simeone upfront.

Anyway, Napoli’s offensive set up should be too much for La Viola, but I am not interested in backing either side. Over 2,5 goals looks a good thing

Frosinone v Sampdoria | Saturday 15th September 2018, 19:30
I expect Frosinone to take something from their first home match of the season. This team showed their worth in a decent Serie B campaign, and they’ve been pretty busy over the summer.

I give them a decent chance against a Sampdoria side who have poor away form under Marco Gianpaolo. The Ciociari have always found the net easily on home soil and the Doriani concede a lot away from home.

I like both teams to score here

Betting odds: Valencia vs. Real Betis
Valencia moneyline: +353
Real Betis moneyline: -135
Draw: +294
Over/Under: 2.25 (-113/-107)
Kick-off: Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET
Channel: beIN Sports
In a reverse of the thinking ahead of the aforementioned Wolfsburg game, the odds suggest that Real Betis’ trip to Valencia should be a relatively free-scoring game. Both sides certainly have coaches that like to play on the front foot when they can, ranking fourth and fifth respectively for goals scored last season. But their starts to the current campaign have been somewhat stunted.

Betis picked up their first win of the season in the Seville derby ahead of the international break, but Joaquin’s match-winner is their only goal of the season so far. Valencia have scored a modest three in three by comparison, but are yet to pick up all three points.

Neither side is in good form in front of goal, and Betis have only scored on one of their last six visits to Valencia. Moreover, both teams have scored in just three of their last 11 meetings and in none of Betis’ matches so far this season.
